Lawrence Katzen's Online Review Report Card

I had eye surgery at this clinic many years ago. My surgery was successful and for many years I returned for a yearly examination. At that time I had medical insurance at this time I do not. I was told that this clinic is now under new ownership. It sounds like it has been taken over by a money grubbing bunch of scam artists to me. I asked them what the price was for the examination without insurance. All they would tell me is that it was $194.00 to walk in the door. Then once they decide how much they want to jack up the bill after the examination they will tell me the cost. I have had the exact same examination for a decade or more in that place. I asked them to tell me what last years examination would cost me this year both arrogant women I spoke with refused to tell me. They wanted me to return to the Katzen Krook Klinic with a blank check. This is what’s wrong with the medical industry I asked fair questions and was refused answers by a mismanaged money grubbing medical operation. People go to this clinic to prevent blindness but it appears they want everything else done to you to be through a cloak of blindness. When I decide to get it insurance again I won’t be attending this facility. I left them know I would posting a review of the call in the internet. As per what comes in most customer service handbooks these days they gave me permission to do what I wanted to. Under the old management this was a great facility. Under the likely by low streamline and sell high facility. They should be embarrassed to be as callous misleading and entitled as they are. There should be a low against walking in and having no idea what your bill will be when you leave. On top of it all when I got off the phone with them I did some research and found out that my Doctor Lawrence Katzen had passed away. They didn’t advise me that I would have to see someone new. I wouldn’t have gone there anyway regardless of price. Doctor Katzen was a great man and a great surgeon it’s a shame that his clinic has been turned over to corporate machine that clearly needs oiling.

Great surgeon restored my vision with no side effects. I se better than I have in 20 years.

For those of you who like to participate in your health care (in this case, eye care) with the doctor...who like to ask questions of the doctor when there is a problem and expect a response, Dr. Katzen is not your doctor. We have found the doctor is unforthcoming and wants to go through his routine without speaking to you or giving results after he is finished unless asked. He'd rather that the patient just shut up. As far as his surgeries go, we give him credit for good results.

I am a firefighter and struggled with my contacts and glasses. Having LASIK has changed my life drastically! I can better perform my profession but I can also enjoy outside activities and playing with my kids without my glasses getting in the way. The staff at Katzen Eye Care were very caring and professional. Dr. Katzen was very thorough and kind. Thank you !!

This Doctor and his staff are very knowledgeable and experienced. I put off surgery for years but when I finally made the decision I was glad I found Dr. Katzen. I can't believe how easy the surgery was and my vision is excellent! I recommend Dr. Katzen and his staff to everyone now.

I had LASIK surgery with Dr. Katzen. Hands down been one of the best decisions of my life. When I started researching LASIK and asking around to my friends where the best place to go was, there was always the same name that came up, Dr. Katzen. I’m so glad I took the plunge. If you have Cataract, go the see Dr Katzen! My life has changed drastically with my new amazing vision. Dr Katzen took the time to explain all my options. Could not ask for better care.

Had my LASIK surgery on Friday and I cannot believe how amazing my vision could actually be! This is the best Christmas gift I could have ever given myself! The staff and Dr. Katzen are superb.
