This was my first visit to this doctor. Everyone was pleasant and professional. From registration to X-ray to the exam room, every employee was courteous and helpful.Dr. Cashan was thorough and explained my medical issue without feeling rushed.I would definitely see him again if necessary.

Dr Cashen himself is great. His PA is wonderful as well. The reasons he doesn’t get 5 stars is 1)be prepared to wait in the waiting room minimum of 30 min before being called back, which can be difficult for a postop hip patient in those chairs (for us it was usually 45 min each time regardless of whether it was him or his PA); 2)be prepared to wait up to 3 days for prescriptions as both he and his PA do surgeries together and don’t do prescription needs until they’re back in the office on non-surgery days, so if they forget to send it to the pharmacy at the end of your appt and he has surgery the next two days you’re out of luck; and 3)some of the staff can be abrupt and impersonal (as is frequently the case in large medical practices that see hundreds of patients a week). Surgery-wise he’s great. Just be prepared for the other things (we were not). I would have him do surgery again, but have lowered my expectations now for the postop office visits.

I had seen a doctor in West Virginia that said I had a possible tear and needed to do surgery to shave the torn part off. Dr. Cashen looked at the same MRI, saw there was fluid and said I didn’t need surgery, he took some fluid out and put some cortisone in the same place and the next day it seemed like it had a year ago. I love a dr. That doesn’t do surgery when you don’t need it!!

So grateful for being directed to Coastal orthopedics and Dr. Chasen. Hip replacement in June with great outcome. Looking at a second replacement soon. No worries. Was in great hands.
