Dr. Cashen has performed two hip replacements for me. Both were so successful that my quality of life has been vastly improved. My most recent was at the S.R. 64 surgery center, and the experience was wonderful. The facility is modern and spotless, and the staff and physicians were attentive, compassionate, and did all they could to make me relaxed and comfortable. I actually left on my walker just a few hours after the surgery! All of my therapy appointments were scheduled including at home and at the facility, and all of the meds had been called in a few days earlier. Dr. Cashen is a joy to work with. He is congenial, attentive, and takes the time to explain the procedure. He takes the time to answer any questions you may have, and to put you at ease. His knowledge, experience, and expertise are incomparable. He goes above and beyond expectations. An extra bonus is his assistant Hillary who supports you with anything you need. I am thankful for Dr. Cashen and his team.

I’ve had knee problems for over 15 years. I had to give up running then bicycling. My family doctor recommended Dr Cashen as the best orthopedic physician in the area. Dr Cashen explained the reason for my pain in simple terms. His team coordinated all the pre-surgery visits and tests along with insurance approvals. I was a candidate for out patient surgery that was scheduled quickly after my initial visit. The surgery was seamless, professional and efficient. All my questions were answered competently. The follow-up physical therapy was available very close to my home. The therapists are part of the team and excellent at getting you back to an active life. I had the second knee replaced as scheduled and am back to bicycling and swimming after only 2 months. If you have knee or hip issues, Dr. Cashen and his team are where you want to have your care. Proceed with confidence.

Dr Cashen and Camilla are great. The office staff is unprofessional. Patience come to the office in pain and in fear of more pain and the last thing anyone needs is being dismissed by a receptionist when having a question or a need. Or waiting for over an hour for your appointment because the receptionist failed to checked you in. 5 stars for Dr. Cashen 1 star for the staff Not very pleasant

Dr Cashen himself is great. His PA is wonderful as well. The reasons he doesn’t get 5 stars is 1)be prepared to wait in the waiting room minimum of 30 min before being called back, which can be difficult for a postop hip patient in those chairs (for us it was usually 45 min each time regardless of whether it was him or his PA); 2)be prepared to wait up to 3 days for prescriptions as both he and his PA do surgeries together and don’t do prescription needs until they’re back in the office on non-surgery days, so if they forget to send it to the pharmacy at the end of your appt and he has surgery the next two days you’re out of luck; and 3)some of the staff can be abrupt and impersonal (as is frequently the case in large medical practices that see hundreds of patients a week). Surgery-wise he’s great. Just be prepared for the other things (we were not). I would have him do surgery again, but have lowered my expectations now for the postop office visits.

Dr. Cashen did my knee revision a year ago. I am ?? % pleased with the outcome. Highly recommend his abilities to anyone.

Dr Cashen and the Coastal Team offer the best patient experience I have ever encountered. From the moment I made my first appointment to my current follow up visits from knee replacement surgery, every experience with every department was great. The staff is well trained, compassionate and concerned for the patients. Communication is a top priority with them - they respond and respond quickly to your questions and needs. Continuum of care is before, during and after the day of care. Dr Cashen goes above and beyond to make sure all your options are discussed and questions are answered. He is kind, highly supportive and gives incredible care. To find a practice where you are not just another patient and your time is valued is truly rare in today's business environment. I applaud the courtesy, efficiency and professionalism of the entire staff here and highly recommend this practice and Dr Cashen.

I visited DR Cashen in January of 2020 about my hip. He spent a LOT of time going over my hip pain and issues going back decades, yes decades! I had hip pain so bad I couldn't walk thru the grocery store any longer. Any way we agreed to do a total hip replacement. On the morning of March 20, 2020 we did it as an out patient at the East surgery center. I can tell you folks... My wife and I arrived at 8 am and at 2:20 pm that same day I walked out of there with the help of a walker and a couple nurses and got in my wife's SUV and went home to my own house. The first couple days were pain free. But the next week or so not. I felt like Superman at first but realized I was not. With the help of my wife I was doing pretty good and slowly recovered my strength. Long story short I continued to improve and am now 11 months in and doing well. I can only say this. Dr. Cashen and his staff are the best you will ever find. This DR. is FANTASTIC and his skills unbelievable!

I am in absolute awe of Coastal Orthopedics, specifically, Dr. David Cashen, Camille Dupont, PA-C, and Hillary McGonigle, RMA. I had out-patient total right hip replacement on May 8, 2020, and I cannot believe how quickly I recovered and got my life back. This team is the best and work together perfectly. They answered all my questions and never rushed me to move on to next appt. They all treated me like family throughout the entire process. I really cannot thank them enough for their great care. I love this group and only trust them with my orthopedic care.

hi. has been two years since dr cashen accepted me as a pt. had been given a choice of amputation or the inevitable. thanks to dr cashen, i now live a very mobile lifestyle. i had to put in the work but first needed a miracle. i got it. someone described him as an artist. fully agree. thank you dr cashen AND staff--the greatest will forever be grateful. bet there are many of us that has breatly benefited from your expertise and skills. may be a days work for you and your staff but to people like me...gift from God! thank you so much ted wagner
