List of Florida Digestive Health Specialists's Reviews
All staff means well and is friendly but it’s nearly impossible to get in contact with an infusion nurse to book an appointment.
Very terrible experience. We were told back in January 2022 while choosing a GI provider that our insurance was accepted by both our insurance provider, and FDS Bradenton location. Showed up to our appointment, check in went fine. Collected our $50 copay. No issues with Dr. Caire or staff. Fast forward 5 months later and we get a bill for the full amount of the visit. We called FDS to inquire as we were told we only had a $50 copay which was already collected. Billing informed us that they would re-submit to our insurance and be in touch. A couple of months later we did not hear anything back, assumed it had been taken care of due to the lack of communication. Got a bill from COLLECTIONS. Called FDS billing dept in Bradenton who refused to talk to us. Also called our insurance whom informed us that FDS does take our insurance, but a prior approval was needed. No one told us this prior to our visit, or even at our visit. No one told this after this fact either, nothing! I am assuming the staff apparently does not know their insurances and requirements. For over the past month I have been passed around between supervisor Missy, Manager Danielle, and the staff at the Bradenton location. I've made multiple phone calls, left voicemails, and requested emails. Nothing. No one can return my phone calls or tell me anything. I also called and spoke the manager Rebecca Clark at the corporate billing center whom assured me FDS did accept my insurance weeks ago. She stated she would also be in contact with Manager Danielle. I have not heard anything, and called to follow up a couple of weeks later. Still nothing. Please save your time, money, energy, and headache. Do not choose Florida Digestive Health for your GI needs. They're lack of knowledge in insurance and lack of communication is not appropriate for healthcare.
First of all, my dr at this practice was excellent, no complaints about her or her competency. However, the front office staff at this practice NEVER returns a phone call, doesn't return emails, doesn't return messages left on the answering machine and does everything in its power to add to the stress of a patient with questions about an upcoming procedure. When you have to book an appointment for a colonoscopy over 4 months in advance, it seems reasonable that as the appointment nears you might have a couple questions. They never called back and I was left without a prescription for the colon prep kit due to a change in insurance. I am sure that they have a lot of no-shows for appointments for procedures because patients are not getting the information they need. It was ridiculous and I ended up googling for directions on doing an alternative preparartion for my procedure. It should not be this hard to get a return phone call. What other purpose does a front office staff serve other than to make sure patients know what is going on? Again, it just really added to the stress of my procedure to be left hanging without the courtesy of a reply. This office needs to over haul its customer service and attitude toward the paying clientele and stop treating us like some unwelcome burden on their day.
I called today to see if I could make an appointment/if they were accepting new patients. Totally understand booking out as demand may be high! I need to see someone sooner for an issue. The reason I am giving two stars is because the woman who answered the phone acted as if I was annoying her and hung up on me when I told her "thank you, I'll see if I can find a doctor who has closer availability." Not sure if I even would have booked an appointment considering the way she spoke...
My husband was scheduled for a new patient appointment this morning. He received a call to schedule the appointment and a reminder phone call last week. When he showed up for his appointment he was told he did not have one and was pushed out until November. The original referral from his PCP was sent in August. They are saying they have the referral, but no other appointments or record of his appointment. Nobody seemed to care to rectify the issue or want to help solve the problem. Just continued to say he didn’t have an appointment.
Don't count on ever talking to a live person on the phone. The phone tree is extensive and the recordings to leave a message are several minutes long with no way to bypass the message. After listening to it you may well be cut off as soon as you start your message. The message also says to allow 48 hours for a call back. While I like my doctor be continuing with this practice for this reason.
Would highly recommend.
They called me to come in an hour before my appointment because they were “ahead of schedule”. I got there early as requested and still Ended up waiting until after my original appointment time before seeing the NP. They never called in my prescriptions on 2 (and only 2) occasions. They missed all symptoms of diverticulitis and I ended up in the ER 2 days after my appointment (after I informed the I had it 3 times previously). They failed to schedule both a endoscopy and colonoscopy (thankfully before the procedure). I had to call begging and crying to get in to see an actual doctor within a week (vs 2+ months) after repeated episodes and ER visits within a month. I’m a veteran and plan to go to the VA instead of going back to this place. They should move to a more practical location and spend their money on quality employees instead of a nice view.
Waited over an hour to see Dr assistant for a preliminary appointment. Left without seeing anyone. They are very slow. Another woman told us she waited 2 hours to be seen. Terrible place. Over books appointments.
All the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The ladies at the front desk went out of their way to help me figure out and understand how to fill out my paperwork. My nurse practitioner took the time I needed and explained things clearly and understandably to me. I wish all doctor's offices were like this one.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
