Paul Toomey's Online Review Report Card

Dr Toommey took over Dr Estes patients when he unexpectedly passed away. Dr Yoomry was very efficient, very dedicated, and very interested in making sure we were all taken care of. His entire staff were available for questions, concerns and knowledge about how our medical issues were handled. I am extremely grateful for his helping in a crisis situation that was certainly not planned for.

I was referred to Dr. Toomey by the staff of another beloved local surgeon who recently passed away. His resume is impressive, with a Degree in Biomedical Engineering and Medical School training from Univ. of Fla. He excels at the new technology available and is highly regarded by his colleagues here in Bradenton. He did a great job performing the robotic assisted laparoscopic bilateral inguinal hernia repair on me at Manatee Memorial hospital recently. He was easy to talk to, and listened to all my concerns. He gets 5 stars in my review.

I first met Dr Toomey in the Blake er, which brought him in as a consult. He determined that I needed laporascopic surgery and carried it out all the way. I ended up being just fine with almost no recovery time. He is one of the very best doctors I have ever met. His staff was extremely caring, with outstanding post-surgical follow- up.

I need a procedure done that I know for a fact can be done without being put to sleep! He absolutely refuses to help me ; says it can't be done without being put to sleep; I have a friend who had it done without anesthesia and my research says it can be however he chooses to let me suffer ! Not caring at all ; would never recommend him

Very professional and I feel like family around his crew of nurses

I had an appointment today and was forced to walk out without being evaluated. Dr Toomey refused to wear a mask in the exam room with me despite my request and their policy at the desk saying they would wear one upon patient request. Due to having a pregnant wife and the risk of complications with pregnancies and covid, I asked Dr Toomey to wear a mask after he entered the room. He declared his vaccination status and refused. When I asked again, he said that I was wearing a mask and that would be good enough. I asked if he was refusing to follow the office policy and his response was "I'm not going to wear a mask, we are past that" and cited the updated CDC guidelines, which do actually recommend masks in Manatee county as of today's date. I'm disgusted by the lack of consideration and arrogance shown by the doctor, I would strongly recommend against anyone going to this office.

He is rough. He doesn't listen. Makes inferences. His staff made me super uncomfortable. We had to take our masks off for a photo. He had trainees that were watching that were never introduced to me. He attempted to sell surgery even though I don't need it. I'm just not a fan.

Horrible. Removed a cyst between my cleavage area, turns out the scar is worse then the cyst looked before he did surgery. Went back to see him and all he could say was sorry, and to get some kind of over the counter cream forte HUGE BRIGHT RED scar. Now I need to finds plastic surgeon to fix his mess! Also he spent 60 seconds with me to tell me results of cyst removed.

Unsatisfactory. I first saw Dr. Toomey as a hospital inpatient and again at his office. Did not feel he cared about my health or wanted to spend time explaining complex health issues.
