He misdiagnosed me with gallbladder issues (confirmed by two medical doctors) and convinced me to have surgery despite me saying I didn't have symptoms. Two days after surgery my entire abdomen started burning. It has been almost two years and I continue to have severe burning and phantom pains from an organ that never gave me pain in the first place. I was a young, fit/healthy, black woman and all my questions were dismissed, and told my second opinion was wrong (turns out they were right). I was lied to about side effects saying the only one was diarrhea and when I asked about vitamin deficiencies and the possibility of bile reflux after surgery, I was told those didn't exist (again untrue). I would stay away (or get 3+ opinions) so you don't suffer from a surgeon who doesn't think critically about each individual patient and is more concerned about getting paid.

My father had stomach issues and blockages, Dr. Alpendre did a very complicated surgery and now my father is healing. 10/10 experience with Dr. Alpendre, great surgeon, anybody can trust him.

Had unexplained pain in back. Dr Alpendre took extra steps to identify problem. Emergency surgery was then done to remove gallbladder. Would highly recommend.

I'm 77 yrs old and had just moved to Fl. knowing I had a double hernia. A neighbor recommended Dr. Alpendre ( he did her double hernia surgery) and she loved him. I was scared because I had already had 6 different surgeries on my stomach area when I lived in Michigan. He was able to do my surgery laparoscopic. A miracle to me. It's only been 3 weeks and I'm already driving & shopping but still taking it easy. I highly recommend Dr. Alpendre and thank him. He made me a very happy patient.

Dr Alpendre performed my gallbladder surgery. He took time to explain everything to me and answer all my questions. The scars from the procedure are minimal and barely noticeable. He is very compassionate and have great bedside manner. I would recommend him to all my friends and family.

Horrible service!!!! Does not care about patients!! The surgeon coordinator is rude and doesn’t want to help in no way. I wouldn’t recommend to my dead dog. I’m thankful I was saved from not having to have him do anything on me!!!

Dr. Alpendre was going to operate on my mother with nothing but a 7 month old ultrasound report with no new images. I caught it in time and ended up sending her to Moffitt instead - and good thing because her seemingly 'fatty tumor' ended up being a Sarcoma. If he had operated with no additional scans...not knowing what he was dealing with...this could have ended up being a mess. She is now being treated at Moffitt....but if I hadn't listened to my gut on this it could have ended up differently
