List of Joel Silverfield's Reviews
The staff was great. But, I went to get a referral for surgery as i have severe CMC arthritis his response was the pain would go away over time. I said I would like a referral to a surgeon. He did give me one and that surgeon took one look at my hands then the xrays and said I need surgery. Dr. Silverfield didnt even request new xrays and mine were a year old and I was in much more pain than last year. The fact he said my pain would go away over time blew me away. Both hands are bone on bone. I would not recommend him for CMC arthritis.
I was referred to Dr. Silverfield by my neurologist who said he’s the best rheumatologist in Tampa. He’s very knowledgeable and he actually cares about his patients.
Dr. Joel SilverField, office is always friendly and professional. I receive excellent healthcare doing each visit.
Dr Silverfield actually takes the time to listen and discuss options with you. He has always treated me with respect and works in partnership. I have found his office staff to be professional and positive. Overall, I will choose my insurance plan based on his being in network with them. He's THAT good!
I was referred to Dr. Silverfield for having joint pain for several years and I have to say he is one of the most amazing doctors I have ever been to in my 47 years! He actually listens, his bedside manner is amazing and he doesn’t treat you like you’re there for no reason!
The best doctor around, hands down. Wait times tend to be long and it may take time to get an appointment....BUT, well worth any wait. He is the best listener and truly cares about his patients and their well being. I have been a patient for approximately 4 years + and cannot say enough good things about him. Highly recommend!!!!!
Definitely no, I was referred to Dr Silverfield due to a skin biopsy indicating lupus erythamatosis and a positive ANA test. Upon my visit after an appointment was scheduled (3 months later) he told me absolutely nothing and was dismissive of my concerns, I shared my experience of having reynauds in my fingers due to them turning blue and he told I was wrong and that reynauds is when your fingers turn white ( WRONG, it's either). He did a sed rate which was slightly elevated but not of concern. He never gave me a diagnosis other than "the sun is your enemy". I asked his nurse if I had a diagnosis and she rudely said "no diagnosis" and turned her back and walked away (oxymoron "compassionate nurse"). I never returned and was so discouraged that I didn't see another rheumatologist for years. In actuality Irecieved more compassionate efficient care from my dermatologist and have found that my lupus was due to my prescription high blood pressure medication. Seek someone else

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
