List of MIchele Amoroso's Reviews
Dr. Amoroso is one of the most knowledgeable doctors I have ever met. During my appointment with her, I had multiple questions regarding labor and delivery. Dr. Amoroso responded to each question providing evidence and statistics. For example, I was trying to decide if I should register at TGH or Saint Joseph's Womens hospital, I was hesitant about Saint Joseph's since they had a higher cesarean rate. Dr. Amoroso explained that Saint Joseph's had a higher cesarean rate because they take higher risk patients, are a private hospital, and collaborate with pediatrics (which many times require cesareans and immediate surgeries on new borns) hence the higher rate. She spent over an hour with my husband and I addressing all my questions. Dr. Amoroso's intelligence and factual responses to questions made me feel very reassured and informed-I hope she is on-call when I go into delivery!
Dr. Amoroso is an excellent Doctor that makes me feel comfortable speaking to her about uncomfortable medical topics. Extremely knowledgeable, patient and kind to me every time I see her. She has been my gyno for years and even when I moved to St. Pete, I still travel to keep her as my doctor.
Dr. Amaroso's bed side manner definitely needs some work but I do not think it is malicious in nature. At first I was very upset thinking that she lacked empathy or compassion but after closer reflection, I think it is a personality trait. If you can get past that, she is very knowledgeable. She knows her stuff. Her delivery takes some getting used to. I would have liked to have left with at least written general information about my condition. A possible heads up to take notes would be nice. So much information given verbally can be overwhelming when you're getting bad news. Ultimately, if you can get past the delivery of news, you will be in good hands.
No bedside manner. Treats patients like cattle
I was having bad pain and so I went in for an emergency visit. This was the first doctor I could get in to see. She was cold & not caring. She said I needed an ultrasound to make sure everything was good. When I went to check out and schedule they said the first appointment for one wasn’t for a month until now. I was under the understanding that this was urgent because of the pain I was having. (Had also called primary care the night before and nurse almost had me go to ER bc of the location of my pain) I politely asked the girl to check with the doctor to see if there’s anything sooner because of my pain. She went to the back to ask the doctor and I could hear the doctor when asked about me say loud “she’s not even my patient!” “Just give her the next available”. I was horrified. If you saw me today- I AM YOUR patient and you should treat me as if I am and care. It is unbelievable that someone would give a different level of treatment based upon new or established patient!! This woman clearly doesn’t care about people or helping anyone and us just there to collect a paycheck. DO NOT go see her. I’m so sad that Sasha is no longer there as she was amazing and truly cared. Also- I just saw that she went to Penn State.... I am a Penn State alum and I'm horrified & embarrassed that she is an alum of my University!!

Dr. Amoroso has the worst bedside manner I have ever encountered in my 32 years of seeing a GYN. She talked down to me and was very condescending the entire visit. I felt like I was a half of an inch tall. Her medical assistant was just as bad laughing at my questions as her back was turned to me. It was a humiliating experience and I will never see her again.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
