List of Neal Honickman's Reviews
The office is very disorganized. Sometimes they take a co-payment & sometimes they send you a bill and they have a hard time keeping track of referrals. Dr Honickman made excessive appointments, (sometimes 3 a week) and kept prescribing different eye drops & pills costing a lot of $$!. Then the next visit he'd say stop using it after spending $100's of dollars. I found another doctor at a different facility who is wonderful.
He may be good at following textbook conditions but clearly he was not able to help me and did not make any effort to find out more about my condition, which I get, is considered, rare. I have lost almost all vision in my eye since starting treatment with him 8 months ago and my condition continues to deteriorate.I see no light at the end of the tunnel (pun intended). I was told his rooms will schedule a follow up appointment with him after he performed a procedure on my eye. After 2 weeks I’m still waiting! Previously, when this happened, where his staff would not return my calls or pass on my messages to him, he accused me of non-compliance. Also,I am unable to get the facility to download my images on a flash drive. In this day and age, with technology so advanced, who is still unable to download an image? I am not as computer savvy as the younger generation but I do know how to save an image! Will not recommend him.
I have been seeing Dr Honickman for a few years now he is a great doctor. He is quiet but does his job is very caring answers all my questions, explains the tests that were done, tells me what they are watching with my eyesight and why. He told me I have the beginning of Macular degeneration advised me what medicine to take and it has not got any worse since I started taking the medication. I am very happy with Dr. Honickman as my eye doctor and wouldn't go to anyone else.
I found Dr. Honickman to be very caring and an excellent physician. He is currently treating me for macular degeneration and the results to date have been excellent. Dorothy J., Lithia, Fl April, 2020
He diagnosed me with macular degeneration (I got a second opinion, I don’t have macular degeneration), ordered unnecessary tests, had the nurse give me double the dose of eye drops to dialate my eyes because he doesn’t like to have to wait. My eyes stayed dilated for four days! He’s impatient and interrupted me when I was asking a question. Needless to say, I changed to another practice.
One of the most uncaring doctors I've ever seen. Didn't seem to listen or care about my concerns. Horrible experience, and I will never go back.
If I could give him 1/2 star or less I would.
He is not talkative, just gets right to business. But he will answer your questions and he has been a good doctor. My macular degeneration has improved with treatment. I would recommend him.
Qualified but not very personable.
He knows his stuff. You won't have to wonder about that.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
