List of Optical Outlets's Reviews
Read the reviews before choosing this location. Called weeks ago and made an appointment. Showed up early and tried to check in only to find out they never put my appointment in the schedule. The receptionist was so rude about it. Did she ask if wanted to reschedule? No. I think I dodged a bullet anyway.
Completely unprofessional. I walked in to pick up contacts and was completely ignored. I asked how long it would be and she wouldn't give me a straightforward answer... I would've been fine if they had just said "hi, we'll be with you in just a minute." To be completely ignored to the point where they wouldn't even look in my direction demonstrates a total lack of care. Customer service is abysmal.
If I could give them a 0 I would. Basically they are just Insurance scam artists. I went to the the Brandon Towne Center location first. They told me I had $550 in insurance benefits. They didn't have frames I liked but I eventually decided to settle on a pair. The exact cost they came up with for my glasses was $550. I just said forget it and left. Unfortunately they are one of the few places that take my 20/20 I-care insurance. Went to the Bloomingdale office in Brandon and they charged me $650 for glasses, $100 out of my pocket. $650 for a pair of glasses... Absolute Crooks !!!
Great experience. I was nervous because it was so busy when I walked in, but everything flowed so smoothly. I hardly had to wait at all. Dr Reed was super nice as well as very knowledgeable and Courtney was awesome and helped me to get everything I needed. Would definitely recommend.
I had a wonderful experience. Courtney was Fantastic and very knowledgeable. I drove from Tampa 45 minutes and will continue to come to this location.
The only place I go to for 5 years now! BEST workers and doctors. I highly recommend this store #19
They have good care very polite especially the worker Courtney my glasses were broken we explained I couldn't drive without them and she told me to give her a minute took my glasses and in less than five minutes came back with a brand new frame I was very happy she made my day. Me and my family will not stop coming here. :)
I went to Optical Outlets with my own prescription from my optomologist. That meant that I didn't need an eye exam. I was greeted by a very friendly staff. The store was very clean I worked with a very nice associate named Mel. She understood exactly what I wanted and didn't try to upsell me. I really appreciated that. I also appreciated her. She was professional, organized, helpful and extremely couteous. My overall experience was great! Thank you Mel....
I had a similar experience just like the other reviewers who posted "they were pasted up on the list when it was time to be seen." Why do they ask us to sign in when other people that are there who came in after you get seen before you? I received a message from them letting me know my glasses are ready for pick up. I called them to confirm if both pairs are ready, the receptionist said yes both pairs are ready. I told her I would be there in 20 minutes. When I got there I let the receptionist know I'm just there to pick up my glasses. She had me sign in then 3 other people walked in. I get it if they all had appointments but the last person that was seen before me (who came in 2 persons after me) was just there for a glasses adjustment with no appointment. Really, after reading the other post I know this is an ongoing issue and I hope something is done to fix it. The good part out of all my experience there is the doctor knows what he is doing.
I only own two pair of glasses and they were both broken. I picked Optical Outlets out completely at random from a search of Google Maps - and I am so happy I did! They took my glasses at the front desk, I had a seat, and about 15 minutes later Yanitza brought both of them back out - fixed! Everyone was so friendly, and they didn’t even charge me because they were simple repairs. Thanks so much - I can see again! !

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
