List of Shahid Malik's Reviews
Dr. Malik is very professional and caring. He very carefully explained a recommended procedure. I have also heard excellent things about him from neighbors.
Some records transferred to my MD up North were for another of DR, Malik
Dr. Malik is a very careing Dr. Not to mention one h--l of a great cardiologist . My husband and myself go there . He is very thoughtful and exams the whole heart with advanced testing . My husband and I think he's great . We highly recommend Dr. Malik . Mrs. Norris
I went into A-Fib for the first time while in Tampa for colonoscopy. That Dr. called Dr. Malik;s office to be assured I could be seen by him that day (otherwise I had to go to/pay for ER). Staff got me in, Dr. saw me and prescribed meds. I'd only been there one time for tests - very impressed with staff and Dr.
Dr. Malik saw me at the last minute with a referral from my primary care dr. He is very caring, shared information that was helpful to me and ordered a stress test which gave me assurance that something was being done. He had a waiting room full of patients but did not make me feel rushed.
Took care of my family when they had major heart issues. Forever grateful!
Dr. Malik is a great doctor . Very knowledgeable explains things well comes in with a smile . My husband and I both go to him. Office staff is very kind also. Office is clean Short wait times . He's the greatest .
Dr. Malik has been my husband's cardiologist for more than 10 years. The most important comment I can make here is that he has saved my husband's life several times over those years. His skill as a surgeon has enabled him to add stents where it was almost impossible to do so. To add credibility to this statement is to speak with cardiac ICU staff at the hospital where he practices; they all hold Dr. Malik in high esteem. Dr. Malik communicates with my husband and me frankly while sensitively. He has a wonderful manner with my husband who is in the advanced stages of heart failure. His staff is most helpful and responsive to requests for assistance. As an earlier review stated, there is sometimes a wait for service. His practice is busy. Two anecdotes: 1) My husband suffered a heart attack at home; EMS was present; he was on the floor. While EMS was working on him, I phoned Dr. Malik's office and told them that he would be going to Brandon hospital. The response: "We will let Dr. Malik know. " Dr. Malik was on his day off. He just happened to be in the area of the hospital. By the time EMS got my husband into the ER, Dr. Malik was there and making preps to get my husband into the OR. 2) My husband was in ICU for a problem related to diabetes. I was trying to get into ICU, but couldn't access admittance through the automatic doors. Dr. Malik happened to come out of another door. He saw me, greeted me, and asked what the problem was. I told him. He used his security admittance to get me in, escorted me to my husband's "cubicle", and did a quick exam of him right there. Stayed and comforted my husband, who was distressed at the time. All of this for a problem unrelated to Dr Malik's specialization. Dr Malik is an empathetic humanitarian as well as being a highly skilled physician.
The problem here is that they over book and then have patients wait well over 2+ hours. Both offices, in Sun City and Brandon, are cramped and very poorly equipped. Not suited for patients that need help with mobility (ie wheelchairs). Other than that, the staff seems to be oblivious to help the patients and scheduling people up to 6 months later and not notifying then adequately.
This doctor is so money hungry that he loads his office to the brim Appointment times mean nothing. Be prepared to wait 1 to 2 hopurs to get in, then you wait some more in the examining room. He has no time to work as a good doctor.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
