When I was a medical student at USF Dr Mester was a second year medical resident. That was in 1985 I had a new baby and was president of my medical school class. I have NEVER forgotten his name. His arrogance and abusive attitude towards me has lasted all these years and after working with him I decided that I would never be a doctor like him. I try to treat all people with respect and dignity and I can only hope that Dr Mester has changed. Unfortunately I fear that a leopard cannot change his spots. Dr Steven Roth

Be cautious. I have been his patient for many years. He has become sluggish. My last visit with him I had chest pain he diagnosed me with reflux and send me home with zantac. Next day I suffered a heart attack and was in intensive care for a week. My heart muscle is damaged now and I live in fear.

Nasty nurse nasty doctor. Go to Dr. Robert Dewhurst he and is staff are wonderful. Stephen Mester is a world class jerk and so is his nurse. Just terrible waste of time and money Worst cardiologist Ive ever been to in my life.

Stood in the doorway and said he did not think I needed a cardio doctor. I had my first heart cath about 40 years ago and another a few years later which revealed a 40% blockage . I have been followed by a well known doctor who thinks prevention is the best way to go. I made some lifestil changes and I am now 83 and no heart attacks. Dr. Mester is not my kind of doctor

I was a patient with Dr. Mester for a couple of years. He is not interested in what a patient finds out about his care or the reasons for his or her opinion. He has predetermined ideas and does not understand that individuals are all different in my opinion. I may not be a physician but I know my body better and if you do not agree with him he does not want to treat you. I wish I knew this originally about him. He also is entitled to his opinion but it is my life and I want to live.
