Ayham Alshaar's Online Review Report Card

I went to Dr Alshaar to be tested for allergies approx 2 weeks ago and he prescribed an inhaler for me. The one he prescribed is not covered my by insurance company as per the pharmacy. The pharmacy did say that a generic inhaler would be covered. i contacted the Dr off and asked to have a generic inhaler prescribed and again they prescribed one not covered. I asked the Dr office to please call my pharmacy and our insurance company and they would let them know what inhaler would be covered and again they prescribed one that was not covered because they would not contact my pharmacy or my insurance company. dealing with that office has been a nightmare . No one ever picks up the phone and they dont call you back. ACCES'S MOTO IS OUR PATIENTS COME FIRST it should be our patients come last

I’ve been to 5 Allergists in 11 years due to moves. I would rate this office last in overall experience when considering front desk staff, wait times, billing, nurses (except for one) and the doctor himself. Our visits with Dr. Alshaar were a let down. The first visit was brief and during that time I felt rushed while trying to give him a background history of my daughters food allergies + eczema journey. The overall feeling was that he didn’t care to listen nor did he provide much feedback. The Hispanic nurse was great and honestly the only reason they didn’t get a 1 star review. She was warm, friendly and professional. My daughter was nervous about testing and she did a good job trying to put her mind at ease while still getting the testing done quickly and efficiently. She was the reason we went back a second time and gave Dr. Alshaar another opportunity. Unfortunately, I got the same feelings the second time around. I inquired about Dupixent and feedback was minimal and “it’s up to you”. There seemed to be little interest or genuine concern for the patient, just quick to suggest allergy shots for environmental allergies + Dupixent. He also didn’t seem confident in regards to food challenges for food allergies. This is also the first office that doesn’t give out LAMP forms. That was odd to me. They required a 2nd visit just for me to sign a form for Dupixent where my previous allergist processed everything without an office visit. To me this is a convenient way to charge patients more $$ for a quick unnecessary office visit. There is another nurse that often works front desk (white/blonde hair) who was always in a bad mood. We all have our off days, but we did two office visits and I went back several times to drop off, pick up and get school paperwork corrected and called with questions. Every interaction with her was unpleasant. Her demeanor is rude as if she’s unhappy to be working there. Lastly, billing is a NIGHTMARE! I’ve never paid so much money for allergy visits/testing. They are unorganized and shady. Their statements never reflect the payments you’ve already made and they send random charges and “balances” months later. For example on 1/27/23 I got another $202 bill saying it was from our 08/02/2022 visit (almost 6 months later). I had already paid off both visits and that was a process and then I get another random charge?! I called billing and asked them to send a breakdown of all the charges and what I received was not clear in the slightest. It is a long list of charges and adjusted credits/payments that make no sense. My insurance didn’t make any payments because we had not met our deductible, so it shouldn’t have been difficult to process. The ledger did not reflect my payment totals correctly. It seems that they are trying to get away with charging more than their contracted rates and I have reached out to my insurance to get clear information. EDITED TO ADD: I followed your recommendation and called the # below. The person who answered the phone had no understanding or knowledge of what I was referring to and proceeded to forward me to same billing department.

I have had the worst luck in the world with doctors here locally. Been to this one here for a few years. This doctor is top notch in his field. Very respectful, professional and thorough. He has solved so many issues for me that my primary care could not. Dr. A. Is very kind and has the best manner's. All of the office staff are friendly and helpful. I have never had one single problem with this office. I wish other doctor office's ran like this one. You are all an asset to the medical profession as well as this and surrounding communities. You are also a shining example of what I would expect after reading your access health care mission statement. If the V.A. hospital ran as efficiently as this place, every vet in the country would have a smile on their face. Thank all of you for your help, you made my A-Team list. I love it when a plan comes together!!!

Amazing physician and staff. Great office. Highly recommend.

I never realized that there was a decent physician's office out there. I always clump them all into the same category. Mostly rushed, attitudes and inattentiveness. I was definitely impressed with this office. Dr. Alshaar is amazing and his staff could not have been any nicer or more helpful. Dr. spent a great deal of time asking and answering all of my questions so I was able to leave with a sense of accomplishment. Now if only I could find a primary doctor that can hold a flame to these guys.....
