List of Dharti Patel's Reviews
I have been seeing Dr. Patel (now Shaw) for over three years and have found her very helpful, skillful, and personable. She has readily referred me to specialists, and will often have them come in at the time of her examination. I give her five stars here because I find no way I think she could improve diagnostically, with treatment, or her professionalism
I would give Dr. Patel 0 stars if I could! I couldn't agree more with the previous posts! She rushes, is rude and brushes you off! I submitted a formal complaint with Kaiser today. I've had severe stomach pains and she always tells me to use beano! I finally was seen my a wonderful doctor when Dr. Patel was out of the office. She gave me a referral to GI (which Dr. Patel refused to do). An endoscopy later biopsied reveled inflamation and erosions in my stomach! I've been dealing with Dr. Patel's unprofessionalism for years! It's no wonder she's still accepting new patients! Steer clear of Dr. Patel!!!!
My spouse injured her back - severe lower back pain and inability to walk. After 8 days of bed rest, icing, ibuprofen, she was not getting any better so we made an appointment online for the next day at 11:40 am. My spouse was in so much pain that sitting was extremely difficult, yet we waited in Patel's waiting room for an hour, as Patel was running so behind in schedule. When she finally saw us, she tried to blow off my spouse's injury as trivial and offered no plan for treatment. Patel tried to deny any chance of disc injury as my spouse's reflexes were normal. I challenged that conclusion, based on my own experience with a serious disc injury that required a six hour surgery (laminectomy and fusion) followed by 18 months of rehab, wherein my reflexes prior to surgery were likewise "normal" and said we wanted an MRI to confirm the presence or absence of disc involvement in order to know how to best treat my spouse's back injury. With this, Dr. Patel became huffy, tersely said my spouse would have to go get an x-ray if she expected a referral to a "spine specialist" and shoved a piece of paper at us with the location of the x-ray department. She then stomped off and slammed the door to the exam room, cutting off all further discussion. The x-ray tech who did the imaging said the x-ray order was marked "stat" meaning the x-ray was to be read within an hour and that said report was to be sent to Dr. Patel ASAP so she could make the referral. By the time my spouse finished with the x-ray, she was in so much pain and could barely walk, so I brought her home to await the call from Patel for the referral and hopefully an MRI appointment. That was on a Monday afternoon. By Tuesday morning, we still hadn't heard from Patel so we sent her an email that Tuesday morning through the Kaiser system. This is now Wednesday morning and we have STILL not heard anything from Dr. Patel. My spouse is still in severe pain, bed-ridden, and barely ambulatory "doctor" is completely ignoring her. I am fuming. We've decided to "fire" Patel and just go to the ER today and try to get some form of treatment that way. If I could give Patel less than one star, I would. We will be following up with a formal complaint against Dr. Dharti Patel to the California state medical board for her unbelievably unprofessional behavior and complete failure to respond or provide treatment to her patient. WISH we had seen this earlier YELP review from last year about Dr. Dharti Patel before assigning her as my spouse's primary care physician with Kaiser, but Yelp's lame filtering system had hidden this review from view! "I recently had an appointment with Dr Dharti Ramesh Patel (MD) at the Kaiser in Santa Clara. She lacks some serious listening skills and treats you like a number. She is ALWAYS trying to rush you out of the there and doesn't seem to care about your issues or concerns. Last time I saw her, I had questions about my headache and a sore knee. She told me I could only ask one question per visit and that that if I had another topic I wanted to ask about, then I'd have to make another appointment. I figured I'd give her a few chances to see if she'd change the way she treats me, but after about half a dozen visits with her, I got fed up and changed my doctor to someone else. Don't waste your time with her. She is careless and is the definition of what a truly bad doctor is."

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
