List of Ramakrishna P Kanuri's Reviews
After thirty years of being treated by Dr. Kanuri, I have one thing to say to him! YOU'RE FIRED!! This man does not care about his patients, nor their health. He should retire before he harms another human being.
This doctor horrified my spouse about a biopsy procedure which unfortunately led to unnecessary procrastination and time wasted. Years later, once again referred to this doctor by a different physician, prognosis was more urgent - cancer. Biopsy healing took longer, which makes me think it was done poorly. Bottom line, IF you have prostrate concerns, go somewhere else. IF you need a biopsy go somewhere else. IF it's cancer, go to Moffitt right away -- professional & efficent team. STEER AWAY from Dr. Kanuri. Thankfully my spouse survived his surgery and is doing well -- ALL THANKS TO THE TEAM @ MOFFITT!!
I want to start by saying that Dr. Packey is WONDERFUL! I really enjoyed being his patient. However, the office staff (particularly the office manager), well lets just say I wouldn't be surprised if they let a member of their own family bleed out because they didn't feel like verifying the family member's insurance. I called with a relatively urgent issue, at the behest of another doctor, and tried to get an appointment, virtual visit, or a consultation, anything to address my immediate concerns. I was asked for my insurance, which I gave, and was told they were not in network with my new plan. I checked prior to the call so I know they were, and even repeatedly offered to give them the provider call line or call with them to check. She declined both but she said the office manager would have to add the insurance to the system and she'd call me back. I should add that as soon as I corrected her, she got rude. She also claimed that regardless of which physician I saw, all claims were run through the practice's owner's name (isn't that fraud?). Later she called me back all cheerful to tell me they would not be accepting my insurance, but I could feel free to pay out of pocket. I told her again that she was wrong and told them to call the provider line. She took the number this time and told me the Manager would have to make the call, then she hung up. Knowing they likely would not call, I called my insurance company and they confirmed that, YES, they DO take my insurance and all involved doctors are covered. The insurance company offered to call them on my behalf and advocate for me (are you kidding?!?, what insurance does that these days?!? WOO HOO). She placed me on hold while she called. She told me that when she called she was immediately transferred to a lady (she said Rose or something similar) who was rude and told her "I already told the patient we will NOT be taking her insurance." This office person refused to listen to the insurance company who was calling to tell her YES, we will pay you. Instead she was rude and hung up on the insurance company. My insurance folks escalated the issue to a specialized team and are reaching out to the Owner for resolution. Dr. Packey... I do hope I can keep you as a doctor. You're wonderful and it's so hard to find a good doctor these days, but you may want to rethink the practice you work for, or at least consider hiring new office staff. With staff like that, who needs a bad review to lose business. These gals do it for you. Bad days happen, but no one deserves to be treated like that, especially when they are in medical distress.
this has been my first experience at a Gastroenterologist. from start to finish everyone was professional & considerate. Dr. Packey is a thoughtful physician. he address my questions and discuss in detail my plan of care. there are many choices of Drs. I definitely made the right choice.
I would recommend that you do your research before selecting your physician. I found Dr.Kanuri difficult to communicate with. I got a second opinion and I'm looking forward to a better outcome now.
I agree Dr Kanuri has bedside manner of a doormat. Condesending and arrogant. That being said Dr Packey at this practice is wonderful. Seems Dr K has issue in my opinion with women.
This is not a Dr's appointment you like to have. But, everyone was professional and Dr Packey answered all the questions I had.
I had gone to Dr Kanuri for a few years after he took over the practise of the previous doctor there, who I had liked. I found him to be quite arrogant, dismissive and condescending to me and possibly sexist. He poked my stomach as I was sitting down describing an area of pain to him, rather than asking me to stand or lay down to be examined properly. His assistant does most of the exam then he sails in with an attitude to give you a few minutes. I no longer go to him as my gastroenterologist.
I had my first patient appointment in September and was hopeful, but left disappointed. Having dealt with IBS-C for ten years this doctor just seemed interested in scheduling my 50 year old colonoscopy. He didn't even bother trotting out the standard recommendation of the FODMAP diet. Seems like he is cruising until retirement. His medical assistant told me I had bad handwriting, and even though she could look up the med names in the computer told me I needed to bring the bottles next time, tsk tsk. Even though my insurance pays for the colonoscopy I have no desire to be that vulnerable with this provider, and his staff, and will go elsewhere for the procedure.
I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Packey today. The office staff is so very professional with a very minimal wait time. I feel very lucky to be part of this wonderful office and experienced doctors. Thank you for making me feel very comfortable and part of your family.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
