List of Xavier Jenkins's Reviews
He joins the “come early and we’ll make you wait club” I totally respect the role of any doctor but to make you wait for over an hour leads people such as I to believe that our lives are not important. I can only imagine that it boils down to money and not the overall welfare of the customer. I do have other doctors who are quite timely and I have praised them in their reviews.
I was never called back by the doctor's office to tell me the results of surgery and it seems I am being charged for a 2nd visit that never happened. When I called to try to get information about my procedure and questions about the billing, I was told I would be called back by Dr. Jenkins. I never received a call or a follow up and just mailed a bill.Update: I received a call from whoever is replying to these reviews. I was explained my billing issues and then was promised a prompt call back on Monday from someone to go over my results. 2 weeks later, I have yet to hear from anyone. Seems more like a staffing problem than a problem with Dr. Jenkins.
Dr. Jenkins is the best Dr I have had in years. You can tell he really cares about you and your medical problem. Explained everything very well and calmed my fears. His office staff are very pleasant and a pleasure to speak to, very caring. His hospital manner was more than I expected. Very calming and caring. I would recommend him highly to my family and everyone.
Very thorough and knowledgeable. Easy to communicate with and a very kind bedside manner. Will use for all surgeries if possible. Also, very nice and considerate office staff.
I entered the ER at Oak Hill with stomach pain. Found out that it was a diseased gall bladder. I had low blood and the other surgeon refused to do my surgery after 2 blood transfusions. Dr. Jenkins came to see me and drew me a diagram explaining exactly what was wrong. He agreed to do the surgery. I had robotic surgery and it was a success. The team at Oak Hill was very supportive and professional. I would absolutely recommend this surgeon. He did a fantastic job.
Dr. Jenkins provides outstanding care. His staff, especially Deanna, are helpful and responsive . Dr. Jenkins is patient, thorough, encourages questions and doesnt rush us. The post-op care was really great, too.
If I could post less than one star I would... run for the hills if you need a surgical procedure go to Tampa Clearwater somewhere else. This office will reschedule your appointment continually even if your post op doctor is careless neglectful and doesn’t care I have permanent damage because of dr Jenkins
Dr. Jenkins installed a port in my chest for chemo injections. I was convinced to make an appt. with him by Deanna before surgery and to fill out numerous pages of paperwork because he would give me a very thorough evaluation of my health status. Upon arriving in his office, I found no social distancing between patients, a very unwelcoming staff and I had an hour wait to see the doctor. Upon meeting Dr. Jenkins, I found he had little to say--he didn't have my paperwork with me; and I doubt he even read it. I did most of the talking asking questions to make the appt. worth my time! I got the impression that I needed to rush as other patients were waiting. The appt. was worthless--other patients I've met at the cancer clinic said most pre-conferences for ports were conducted in the hospital right before surgery. This one certainly could have been--I think the office call billing was the major concern. On the day of surgery I asked Dr. Jenkins twice to call my husband at home to inform him of my condition, and he agreed to do that. Neither call was ever made and was confirmed by my husband who was waiting near the phone. When I returned home from the hospital I called Dr. Jenkins office to tell him my husband still had some questions about the surgery. Dr. Jenkins didn't come to the phone and didn't return my third request for a phone call. I made a subsequent call to his office as I had concerns about the discharge papers from the hospital--meds were listed that had not been prescribed for me, and I was to receive a card to carry identifying myself as a port patient that I hadn't received. I was connected to Nicole, the office manager, who didn't have the personality or knowledge to be in that position. Unable to come up with answers to my questions, she told me "you are not a nice person" - a pretty bold statement to make to someone she had never spoke with before who was a paying patient of their office and undergoing treatment for Stage 4 uterine cancer.I made a final return to the doctor's office to pick up a surgical report since no follow up was ever made by him or his staff to answer questions the day of the procedure or later. Nicole and a couple of other women met me at the front desk and certainly were not there to be helpful and caring handing me the surgical report and quickly ushering me out of the office. I passed this information on to my medical insurance and also my oncologist who were taken aback by what I had endured. I have encouraged my oncologist to refer patients to another surgeon who will treat his patients with respect. I also encourage anyone who reads this review to learn from my experience and go elsewhere.
Dr. Jenkins is a fantastic surgeon and individual!!! I had bilateral inguinal hernia and he repaired it using robotic surgery. He took the time to explain everything before surgery and I had a high comfort level going into surgery because I knew he would take care of me. He has a great reputation in the medical community - I heard it from numerous hospital workers before and after surgery. My operation went smoothly and at the post-op appointment he took the time to listen to all my questions. A great doctor and a genuine human being that cares for his patients. I wish all surgeons were like him. Very pleased with this experience.
Top shelf office. I wouldnt go anywhere else in central Florida.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
