The Clinical Staff is non responsive to telephone calls or communication through the AdventHealth Patient Portal. On the patient portal, I have communicated at least on 4 separate occasions over the past year and never received a response. I have had to drive to Dr. Akhtar’s office to address issues with Infusion Center and to schedule a PET scan as phone calls are not being returned. Dr. Akhtar himself is wonderful, but getting through a staff whom will not answer the phone or respond to their own App is beyond frustrating. It is surprising his practice does not have lower reviews.

My husband had a 23 day stay with Advent. All of the doctors ans nurses were caring and compassionate except for Dr. Akhtar. He rudely told me to close my notebook and put my pen down when trying to take notes on a very complicated diagnosis for my husband. He might be a good physician but his bedside manner was horrendous. In my opinion bedside manner is just as important as his abilities as a physician, especially during a very traumatic time for our family. Maybe he was having a bad couple of days but his dismissiveness and demeaning behavior were very offensive.

I would recommend Dr. Akhtar to anyone in need of an oncologist. I am extremely pleased with Dr. Akhtar. During my initial visit, he took the time to get to know me, my history and understand why I was in his office. He is a true professional and I feel extremely confident with treatment. The office staff in Celebration is very friendly and kind.
