My birth experience was traumatizing thanks to her.. but ima keep this short and sweet. Bed side matters? She doesn’t have any. personality?does not exist. Compassion. Not sure she knows what that even means. She was pushing her beliefs on me, trying to make me have an unwanted c-section. Trying to break my spirit… I had phantom pains after she did my vaginal exam. She’s not someone you want to be delivering your baby. Lucky for me she was the one on call that day.

Overall, my experience with labor was pretty traumatizing. Anytime she came into the room she was off-putting and cold. The nurse on duty nearly delivered my baby. Unfortunately, she was busy doing something else. So I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Then I needed snitches. I expressed to her that I could feel that. It was uncomfortable and painful. Yet, I heard her say to the nurse “she cannot feel this because of the Epidural”. And continue to finish. As a black woman being dismissed when it comes to pain is so common. I will not have it. They have other wonderful Doctors but I don’t want to deal with her again.

Amazing Staff and doctors. They go the extra miles to make you comfortable and advised in great detail what is the best avenue for treatments. Very friendly.

When my water broke I was informed she wasn’t in the hospital yet . When she walked in her words were “let’s hurry this up because I have another lady in labor!” Reached in and tried to suction my daughter out (no communication) so as I pushed I heard a pop and screamed (scared she killed her) and she yelled in my face “stop screaming and push!”. Cut me, then sewed me up after I told her I could feel the needle and thread, called me a liar and kept going. On discharge day “I’m too tired”. RUDE!!

Dr. Figueroa appears to be a nice person, however the level of care I received during the delivery of my first child was not acceptable. I will not recommend her!!
