Dr. Aldrete is a treasure. Very personable, communicative and extremely knowledgeable. I am a researcher of Arachnoiditis in Canada and attended Dr. Aldrete’s offices in Birmingham, Al, with a patient. No physician in Canada at that time even knew of arachnoiditis. Dr. Aldrete examined the plethora of X-rays and CT scans I brought and soon diagnosed the patient as having severe arachnoiditis that had existed in this man’s spine for well over 40 years!! Every doctor seen over the course of those 40 yrs could not figure it out & misdiagnosed it. Until Dr. Aldrete. Recognized as colleague, Dr Aldrete gave me more than a few hours of his time in recognizing the symptoms & how to identify arachnoiditis from scans etc. I later passed this knowledge to a number of doctors specializing in neurology in Canada. It was through Dr. Aldrete’s time with me that worker compensation boards in Canada later accepted arachnoiditis as a compensable injury for injured workers. Dr. Aldrete was always professional and personable at the same time. On each visit Dr. Aldrete expressed his concern about my progress and how he could best help relieve my pain issues. He shows a real interest in his patients. Dr. Aldrete is a leader in the field of pain management and I felt fortunate to be in his care. I was seen my Dr. Aldretes after receiving conflicting diagnosis as to my condition. Thank God for Dr. Aldretes and all his research into Arachnoiditis. I spent 3 years in pain that only got worse and worse. No one could tell me why. Dr. Aldrete was a god send. I had an epidural at child birth that they poked and poked, scrapping my spine right and left over and over (20+) times. Never was the same. Every time I said that was when it started every doctor, said oo thats normal. 3 years in Pain no answer, no reason.. I have arachnoiditis from epidural at child birth.. He gave me hope, his time and heart when no one else would.. Went in for treatment and he has helped so much. A god send, and will tell me the truth when no one else would.. A God send!!!

I visited several doctors & specialists for months before I finally found Dr Aldrete who knew exactly what the cause of my intractable pain was. arachnoiditis! If I were able to be diagnosed properly within at least 3 months from onset of the pain, and treated accordingly, I would not be at chronic pain sufferer for the rest of my life. dr. Aldrete had already been researching and trying to educate the medical field for years of this "Silent Epidemic" (which is the name of his book on Arachnoiditis). He immediately answered my email with a lengthy answer describing my pain issue to the tee...I ordered the book, read it cover to cover... Scheduled an independent exam with him...received 4 hours of thorough and attentive examination of me and all of my medical records...resulting in a 19 page report to bring back to my treating physician

I think Dr Aldrete dr. he has helped my pain and my out look on life. his who;r staff is great.

Dr. Aldrete is one of the few remaining physicians that will not give up on you. He approaches each case as an independent challenge, to use his 44yrs experience as pioneering this unique field of medicine, for you as if you were the only patient. He always greets me with a smile, listens patiently to all my problems/complants and then together with his excellent staff we work toward the plan of care that is best for me, I always feel special. I don't care what anyone else thinks or says... Dr. Aldrete has physically, emotionally and spiritally saved my life. I can't thank him and his staff enough, for giving "ME" back to my family and friends. Simply stated, "He's my hero" and I bet will be your's too.
