List of Joel W. Phillips's Reviews
Ive never come across the worst customer service in my life. When I called the office the person did not identified herself. I asked who I was speaking with and she answered Karen. After she was rude and acted like I was bothering her with my questions she slammed the phone and hung up I dont know how a Dr can allow his staff to behave this way towards patients.
Front staff is just terrible. Hes nice but i always wonder why they let nasty women like this run their front of house operations.
Fantastic doctor. Thanks to Doc my breathing problem 50% lung capacity at 50 is now at 70% 75% and I can function normally at 59. Also anytime Im not well they get me in ASAP and I never have to wait follow up to make sure Im better. 20 plus year patient.
Wonderful experience. When I called an actual person answered the phone not a menu to choose from. I got an appointment the next day. Dr. Phillips knew exactly what my issue was and better yet was able to fix my problem that neither my PCP or dermatologist could. His staff is awesome also
Was very thorough and extremely informative
There never is a problem getting an appt. His staff is friendly and his associates are wonderful
I just had an initial consultation having moved here from another part of the country and in need of a new allergist. I had what I thought was a good experience with my previous allergist so I did not know what to expect after reading the reviews here. There are not a lot of choices within the BayCare system in Pinellas County exactly two and the other one seems to emphasize that it specializes in pediatrics. Others mention a dated and worn even dirty office. I feel differently. No its not decorated in the latest trendiest style is that important to you in your choice of a physician? However I found it to be spacious clean and comfortable sort of homey like your parents or grandparents house with a couple large fish tanks TV a quite large waiting area plus a separate waiting area with fairly large table to fill out forms if you like instead of in your lap. The doctor himself called for me from the patient entrance door. Have you ever experienced that? I havent. I was shocked. Prior to being physically examined in an examination room I was invited into his personal office to discuss my history and what I am experiencing now.....at length. Not an exam room his personal office. Have you experienced that before with any doctor? I havent. His approach with questions is different than Ive experienced also. The questioning and discussion was far more in depth than with any other physician Ive had in the past of any kind. Ive not had a physician spend this much time with me.....ever. I left feeling good about the experience. At least initially I feel like Ive lucked out and found the right person.
He forgetsas a patient you have to remind and correct him. And he likes to see you more oftenfor obvious reason....
Received excellent care my symptoms improved dramatically.
Worst doctor experience of my life He was berating his staff before our interview even began. He was unaware of my genetic illness and was unable to correctly pronounce it. After showing him active eczema on my body he asked me when I got rid of eczema? What? I have it now. After I pushed back at his rudeness toward me he proceeded to throw me out of his office. I was happy to leave. I recommend finding a doctor who was trained in this century and has kept up with modern medicine.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
