List of Thomas Tirone Md's Reviews
Thomas Tirone should not be allowed to touch people. You will probably survive his surgery but you'll need more corrective surgery because he's awful. Bad surgery leads to more surgery. Check on call lists at ERs and don't go if he's listed.
He was a lifesaver for my husband and he is still here today, 10 years later, all thanks to Dr Tirone!! He is my surgeon as well and wouldn't trust anyone else but him!!! His office staff and him were phenomenal support for me when hubby was so sick, 78 days in hospital!! We are beyond blessed that this dr was in call when my husband was in ER and that he took us on
Dr. Tirone was very professional and efficient. My procedure went just as described and my recovery was quicker than I had expected.
1 year after having surgery from Tirone I am still suffering consequences. What he said was something like a small case of diaper rash has continued and festered and not healed. He advised my caretaker, daughter that I was suffering liver failure which was wrong. he left some type of metal pin in my side and advised me that it would either work its way in or come out but could not tell me exactly what it was. It eventually fell out while a nurse from home care was with me and witnessed it. His bedside manner and office manner are atrocious. I found him not to listen to this patient and to think he was in know it all. I definitely would not recommend him for anything.
He is always on time and a take action doctor! I am glad he was on my side when I needed him most.
This surgeon is awful. Avoid and demand another option. He has either been overlooked (not enough people have died) or has declined in skills. He provided a horrible set of circumstances for post op care that were totally avoidable. You can survive his surgery skills as poor as they are but the aftermath may leave you rather damaged. He places incision lines too close, he staples skin without any reason. His bedside manner is atrocious. Dr Tirone oversteps other specialists with a lack of insight and misinformation. His office will not allow you to seek the aid of someone else in the practice. Maybe because no one wants to fix his mess? I feel that he is a bully and should not be allowed to touch people until he has been examined for eyesight and skills. He could also use a class in compassion and kindness. No excuse for his poor skill set to be allowed to continue. Not sure why Morton Plant (that I had believed was a great hospital) would allow their patients to be touched by this poor surgeon or even put him in an on call rotation. Call ahead... if he is on call for the ER then go somewhere else that is reliable.
Dr Tirone is a poor quality surgeon that is not pleasant to patients until there are complaints then he's defensive and a bit of a bully. You'll probably survive his surgery but there might be added obstacles, unnecessary wounds, poorly placed incisions, awful closures that are challenging with his apparent lack of insight into best practices for good outcomes in post operative care and management. Avoid. The area has lots of surgeons, this one is bad.
Love this doctor! There is a reason he is on call at what is in my opinion one of the best hospitals.
Dr. Tirone was on time, efficient and you could tell he was experienced. I am glad I found him. His staff is extremely helpful and friendly
Love this Doctor. He is on time, quick to action, and knew exactly what treatment I needed.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
