List of Wenge Lu's Reviews
Dr. Lu is a caring doctor.
as usual it was excellent
No improvement necessary. Dr Lu always listens, responds appropriately and answers my questions.
Great dr on time, took care of my needs
Excellent and informative
I took my 18 year old son as a new patient to see Dr. Lu. Recent lab results showed low testosterone. Dr. Lu said he would prescribe something to try and address that symptom and asked for our pharmacist information. The prescription was never called in and when we followed up with his office they said he was out of Town and there was no way call in the prescription. We tried reaching out through the "Patient Portal" but no response. Several follow up calls to his office the next week produced no results. It was not until 9 days later that the office called back. I was then told by a staff person that my tone was not appropriate and Dr. Lu wanted an apology. The explanation for the prescription not being called in was that he needed the lab results first which he had not received. This caveat was never communicated as a condition to filling the prescription and no response ever came back through the patient portal. Poor communication skills and lack of empathy displayed by staff.
Dr.Lu shows compassion and takes the time to listen and explain instructions to help me stay on track with my care
Maybe at one point I would have left a 5 star rating. This was an office I always referred people to. After today, I don’t think I can do that anymore.I work in Shady Hills which is on the border of Pasco and Hernando. I’m a teacher. If you weren’t aware we are in the middle of a pandemic and substitute teachers aren’t banging at classroom doors seeking jobs. So scheduling time off is extremely difficult. Luckily my last class is online so I could leave at 2:15 for a 3:45 appointment and not have to worry about coverage. Well on my way there were accidents and traffic backups beyond my control. I CALLED the office to inform them I would be late. They said it was OK. The person said it was OK. Well Drew street was a nightmare! Took forever to get to downtown. They moved offices and my GPS wouldn’t recognize where the new office was and literally took me in two circles. I get there and they tell me I have to reschedule. After nearly TWO HOURS of driving to this office- they turn me away! Why didn’t you just tell me to reschedule when I said I was stuck on Drew Street? Now, in my profession we are told “grace and compassion”. I guess this is great for other professions but clearly not the medical field. Which is ironic, isn’t it? I can’t even count how many times I have sat in the waiting room 20-30 minutes past my appointment time with no complaint. I have been a patient here since it was Dr. Leonard’s practice back in 2007! The medical field is supposed to be about the health and well being of their patients. So this patient can drive for two hours and be turned away? Unacceptable. Perhaps their “grace and compassion” was left at their other office when they moved.1st red flag recently- cancelled appoint in December 2 days before appointment because I could not get time off work. They I guess never documented this and called looking for me on my appointment date.2nd red flag- my pharmacist could not get in touch with this office for several days for my refill.3rd red flag- today’s experience. It really is hard to find a good endocrinologist. Dr. Lu really is good at what he does. This office staff today has me in such disbelief and anger. I’m not sure I can recover from this. This office staff used to be top notch. Used to be.So my tardiness was an inconvenience? Let’s look at how this experience was an inconvenience for me:1) I lost time from work.2) a class lost direct instruction from their teacher3) Two hours of my life spent driving4) gas- which you know isn’t cheap right now.5) I lost out on a Dr. visit which I desperately needed.I’m not sure how you can fix this.
Brand new office for the group. Visit went well Dr Lu very thorough

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
