List of MIchael W Engelman's Reviews
I wouldn’t bring my dog to this guy. First of all, what doctor walks into a the room to see a new pt and doesn’t introduce himself or even say HELLO. I brought my 90 year old mom to see him regarding a biopsy result from a diff Derm. I explained to Engelman my concerns about her slow healing due to Crohn’s disease. His answer was very condescending and combative. Awful experience! This old man needs to retire to an island far far away I wouldn’t bring my dog to this guy. Been going here for years. Great doctor. Friendly, personable and good at what he does. You don't have to schedule 2 months in advance. Anything said to the contrary surprises me. My whole family uses this Dr Engleman.
Wonderful and trustworthy care and advice. Have been a patient of Dr Engelman for over 20 years.
Excellent! Have been a patient for over 20 years. Extremely thorough exam and listens to concerns and questions with knowledgeable advice and treatment.
I have been his patient for years. I find him pleasant, through and professional. I look forward to my visits and his subtle sense of humor.
He is a good doctor, I do not know about the other reviews but he is friendly and does his job right. He talks to you about concerns and addresses the problems (if any) that you have. My whole family goes to him for any moles or skin problems we have and he is great :)
Wow. I really wished I had looked this up before my appointment. Unfortunately my experience lines up with a lot of the criticisms here. Wow. I really wished I had looked this up before my appointment. Unfortunately my experience lines up with a lot of the criticisms here. I had requested a doctor at the Coral Springs office who could treat keloids with steroid shots and the office assigned me to him. His general bedside manner was, well, not encouraging. No real greeting or introduction. But I thought he must have been busy and overwhelmed, so I tried to be polite and understanding on my end. I asked him if he could also include a local anesthetic (the injections can be extremely painful, depending on the area). My old derm was able to do it so it caused no pain at all. He said that this was not the methodology he was accustomed to. His tone felt very dismissive, as if I was being a baby asking to avoid pain. But he (literally) shrugged and said he'd try if I wanted to. I have never seen a doctor shrug, or be so cavalier about a patient's concerns. At the last moment (as in he's literally floating over me with the needle), I chickened out. His manner just did not inspire trust. And honestly, I just don't think he was knowledgeable enough about the treatment. To be fair to him, a lack of knowledge about possible keloid treatments seems to be a general deficiency in today's dermatology. I've been rejected by several doctors (including POCs) in my search for relief from keloid growth and the physical pain it causes. I have several large ones on my back and chest. The fact that this condition most effects people with high levels of melanin (i.e. people of color) makes this deficiency among the profession really frustrating and heartbreaking. As a black women I feel like my skin doesn't matter to dermatology in America. I've only found one doctor in South Florida who has been able to provide knowledgeable treatment, but she's no longer within my insurance network. Meanwhile, I'm just praying I can find someone else who can help me. In all, if you're looking for keloid relief, I would recommend going elsewhere. And let me know if you have success somewhere else, please. :)

My doctor’s visit was not how I expected it to be. I feel responsible to warn you. I didn’t find him to be very friendly and even a bit rude. He approached me with a scalpel in order to cut a piece of skin to do a biopsy. However I did not approved for a biopsy prior to that. I didn’t expect this for a simple eczema skin issue. He then went on becoming rude towards me. The visit then had to be interrupted. Please be careful. My doctor’s visit was not how I expected it to be. I feel responsible to warn you. Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
