List of Andrew Hanzlik's Reviews
My experience with Dr Hanzlik is different than many other reviewers. Dr Hanzlik performed cataract surgery on me 20 years ago and all went very well till today. He is very professional and courteous. I am not currently using him because of my HMO insurance. She is treating my 96 years old mother instead. I do agree that the front desk staff could do better at times so I go with 4 stars. However, this issue will not prevent me to continue seeking the help is Dr Hanzlik.
Horrible experience with getting trifocal cataract surgery: First, Dr. Hanzlik will only give you time when he's trying sell you the more expensive eye surgery. Right before surgery my husband and I had questions. He was 20 minutes late, and he was annoyed with us when we tried to ask questions. Then he rushed off from us. Second, Dr. Hanzlik is not a good surgeon. My husband's intermediate vision is blurry. Dr. Hanzlik said there aren't really problems with the trifocal lens. Third, during your first visit Dr. Hanzlik only tells you about the lens cost. He doesn't tell you there will be a surgical charge and another charge from him. Very shady. Plus, they charge for follow-up visits after the initial one. Fourth, the surgical place overcharges and won't return your money. Dr. Hanzlik's office won't help you get the money returned. They tell you that it's a separate place, even though, they are representing that place by having the procedure done there. It's VERY difficult to get your money returned from the surgical center. They won't answer the phone or call you back.
Ingrid at the front counter was not only rude but she accused me out of no where for something I never said. I was in the lobby saying hi, asked to pay the surgery out of pocket, and that's when it happened, in front of a full waiting room of people. She says outloud that I supposedly said, "she didn't know how to do her job." I was not only shocked but completely embarrassed because I just walked from the hospital. I have not slept and this individual is doing this. I came to get meatal removed from my eye. This is already scary.
So far I have had a good experience with both Dr. Santiago and Dr. Hanzlik. They see our whole family and have always treated us with compassion and professionalism.
You would think in 2022, there would be a different mindset on pregnant women in the workplace. I had the worst experience during a recent job interview at an ophthalmologists office in Celebration. Things were going OK at first until she read my application and looked at me and said, "oh, you're young, you just turned 22 huh." "Do you know what's wrong with your generation, you think the world owes you something." Sitting there in disbelief I allowed her to continue. She then commented on my tattoos saying I would need to cover them up, then asked me to remove my mask so she can see my face and asked me to smile to make sure I look presentable. Still sitting there in disbelief thinking is this lady for real? We continued talking honestly it was like she was about to give me the job and then she said, "I have to ask you this, do you have kids?" Feeling cornered I replied, no, but I am expecting. When I tell you this ladies entire demeanor changed in 2 seconds, she looked me dead in my face and said that's going to be a problem. She said the doctor isn't going to want someone there that's pregnant and that I would have a hard time finding a job while pregnant. She continued to question me my plans after I have the baby, which I explained I would need to return back to work as I can't afford to be a stay at home mother. This woman continued to say that they needed someone stable and that what if I get put on bed rest or if I decide not to come back to work? I was speechless at this point, I was hurt, and I felt at that very moment, this is what women have been dealing with for centuries and even in 2022, we are still being discriminated against. Women are expected to bare children and work, but apparently not at the same time. This is even more disheartening coming from a healthcare professional. Ladies know your rights and know this is illegal in every way! I'm still in shock but I know God has a better road ahead for me and will take my blessings as they come, as I would never want to work in that toxic environment under such horrible management.
I would like to add this review on the bad service for Dr. Hanzlik today. My wife and I made an appointment for 2.45 pm drove 45 minutes to get there arrived 10 minutes before the appointment time. When we got there, we checked in but noticed quite a few people in the waiting room so we waited outside the room until there were less people to protect against covid. We are always on time that’s why an appointment was made. My wife called in the morning to confirm the time and was not advised the doctor may have been running late. This is not the 1st time this has happened. You can accept 10 maybe 15 minutes late not unreasonable. After 40 minutes waiting, we asked the receptionist how much longer we would have to wait as we were 40 minutes overdue. She told me may be another 20 more minutes or more. That was not correct as there were 5 more patients in front of us . I asked one of the patients what time his appointment was he told me 2.00 pm – It was now 3.20pm and he had not been seen yet so we estimated the Doctor was running at least 2 hours behind. What bugs us is that they have our telephone number they could have called advising us to come later as the doctor was running late. I see by other reviews this seems to be the quality of service. We now need to find another Doctor for our eyes. Good news is we have a choice. I hope Dr. Hanzlik reads the reviews and gets his act together. It seems to be the norm at this practice. So New patients before it you want to see this doctor allow at least 2 hours more from your appointment time . He is a good doctor but somehow believes waiting for 2 hours after your appointment time is okay. Its not!!
karma will bite you.
STAY AWAY FROM SANDY! Absolutely disgusting and terrible place. To start in job interviews they will tell you being pregnant, young, having tattoos and many other things will be an “issue”. Not to mention how outdated the equipment and staff is. All of these “issues” are illegal. Stopping an interview and not hiring an individual because they are pregnant or have tattoos is discrimination! Also asking personal questions about what a person plans on doing after the pregnancy is also illegal in an interview. Sandy needs to be held accountable!!!
Dr is excellent very gentle & makes you know everything is ok I had upper eyelid surgery & have no scars Today I had lower eye surgery & Dr was very professional can’t wait to see the results
very efficient, caring, punctual, and thorough

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
