Barbara Ercole's Online Review Report Card

I have an appointment with Dr Ercole on the 22nd, by her professional history I can't wait to see her. Heard many wonderful historys an looking forward to put my life on her hands.

Dr. Ercole is an absolute ROCK STAR!!! At 52, the thought of prostate removal surgery brought horrific images and stories told by friends and family members... but this is 2021... and Dr. Ercole and her 'Nerve Sparing Technique' is sheer BRILLIANCE!!! Her attitude, attention to detail in explanation, and direct professionalism was second to none, and her skill in her craft is unmatched. We were on the same wavelength in regards to mental toughness, focus, vision, etc... and I am blown away to say that as of my 3 month checkup I am 100% fully clean, and 95% fully functional... I have my health, manhood and my life because of Dr. Ercole!!! She is beyond phenomenal!!!

EVERY appointment in the last two years, I had to wait over 1 1/2 hours in the exam room waiting for her to show up. What makes this worse, is that the nursing staff is complicit. No one ever checks up to see if you are alright or to explain why the Doctor is late. In fact, they nurse told me after she did my in-take exam, that I was next - that the Doctor was with the patient in the next room. LIE. So, this was the last time. I left after waiting 1hout and 42 minutes. Going try Urology at Memorial.

What can I say about this woman. I do not feel there are enough words in the dictionary to describe Dr. Ercole. Her bedside manner is exemplary. She takes the time to listen to her patients and also gives them the time for asking questions and addressing those questions. Her surgical abilities are second to none. I’ve never had surgery prior to last week abs she eased all my fears and concerns. I appreciated that she came to the pre-op room and spoke to me before my surgery and asked if I had any last minute concerns. She was with a smile on her face the whole time. I say first God and then this woman. I highly recommend Dr. Ercole. She saved my life and for that alone I will always be grateful and indebted to her. Thank you dear lady. God bless you always.

I am very disappointed at how she managed my father's case. My dad was suffering for days in pain and she didn't diagnose him properly. My dad could of die. It is embarrassing that my dad saw her twice before he decided to to the ER (he actually saw her hours before he went to the ER) and he ended up having a bladder outlet obstruction and bilateral hydronephrosis in addition to ESBL in the urine (he still in ICU as I speak). She had stopped his antibiotics and told him he didn't have a UTI anymore, while in the meantime the infection was worsening. I still don't understand what kind of tests she did in her office to stop his antibiotic. Just a simple bladder scan and urine Dipstick is not enough, especially if she new the severity of his symptoms, and I don't need to be a urologist to know that. If she would of done the proper testing in her office or at least order more advanced testing like a CT scan or done a cystoscopy, my dad would of not have gone through so much suffering!!!! Being in the medical field myself, I told my dad, that since the problem was urological, she was the person to treat it, but boy I was wrong. Two times seen and not catching this big problem should be embarrassing to her. I wonder if she was thinking my dad was making up the symptoms or what; I am not sure, but all I know is that if a patient has all the severe symptoms my dad had and the improvement is slightly, further testing should be done ASAP and not to wait days or just send him to the ER. Even my dad's nephrologist said..how come she missed this..I felt I could trust her, but never again. You go to an specialist trying to avoid hospitalization and you expect proper testing to be done minimally. She is kind but kindness is not all.

I met Dr. Ercole in 2020 due to my enlarged prostrate. After a period of trying to correct the problem with medication, she explained the need for a TURP procedure. Although this was pretty scary, she was tremendously reassuring that it would be successful. She patiently described the need for and specifics of how the procedure would go. There was a great deal of concern and testing done as my bladder was not emptying. On March 5th, I had the operation. In the week following, I had some short term issues as the blood clots from the procedure passed. Dr. Ercole and her expert nurses were very attentive to explain what was going on and in correcting the situation. I always felt like I was getting the best care possible. Now, two months have gone by without any issues. It is a great feeling to have the enlarged prostate and bladder retention issue behind me. I cannot say enough about Dr. Ercole’s care and the competence of the entire Cleveland Clinic urology team.

I have been Dr. Ercole's patient for many years. She has performed surgery on me for two medical conditions. She is always very professional, attentative, caring and friendly. I consider Dr. Ercole as one of the best medical doctors I have ever seen.

This young lady is in a class all by herself, caring, explains well. Took care of my prostate issue and continues to monitor my care. Excellent Doctor.

Stay away from her. She only cares about herself and is known to be incompetent when it comes to prostate issues. In average, I had to wait 2 hours for each scheduled appointment. Unfortunately, due to her negligence, I'm dealing with aggressive prostate cancer now which could have all been detected years ago if I had a better urologist.
