List of Memorial Outpatient Behavioral Health Center's Reviews
I would never come back. I spoke to a psychiatrist about my anxiety and expressed that I sometimes have wine to calm me down. He asked when was the last time I had wine I answered and next thing you know, behind my back, he called DCF on me. He didn’t prescribe me anything. He Offered me 0 help. In fact I left with more anxiety because if I don’t complete the 4 different programs and the drug tests for 6 and a half month I can have my son taken away. I have 4 different people popping up at my house throughout the week even though my son is healthy, well taken care of and I have tons of support from my husband, grandmas and etc. I would give zero stars
Great Doctor’s and staff's treat people with dignity and respect. Blessings to all!!
These reviews do not do this place justice. I found Memorial Behavioral Health by recommendation. I was struggling with severe panic attacks. They matched me up with a therapy team and encouraged me to join their small group which is called "Choices". This is such an amazing group and wish I new about it sooner. They offer so many great services to help meet the needs of different mental health diagnosis. I would highly recommend it.
The receptionist Alina treated me like an addict trying to bum pills because I had an issue with my insurance for a lexapro refill. She turned what should have been a simple phone call telling me to speak to my pharmacy into degrading me and making me ashamed for the prescription I take for anxiety. I would not treat an actual addict the way I was treated by her and I definitely don’t think the frontline for a mental health center should be. However, the psychiatrist I see through this center is amazing.
I feel like it's important for people to understand that this place has manyyyy different programs for manyyyy different behavioral health issues operating out of it, so the experience really is different for everyone since it depends on the program and who you get! I had great experiences with all of the therapists and social workers who run the trauma program and the intensive outpatient program for anxiety & mood disorders. Literally such a game-changer, I would not have bounced back without it. When I was genuinely frustrated (not just activated from my trauma), I felt my feedback was genuinely considered and implemented where possible. The Rebels community programs (support groups, art and wellness programs) are open to everyone and the people are so sweet! The program managers and facilitators actually get to know you, and so they're also aware of how best to manage group dynamics. They looked out for me to make sure I didn't get triggered, and I really appreciated that. The reason I don't give five stars is due to the psychiatry side of things. While my primary care doctor there was great at being responsive, following up, and listening to me and my concerns, my experience with my psychiatrist left something to be desired. Our first session where I had to explain all my symptoms and trauma was very overwhelming. I felt like my vulnerability in that situation and dynamic was not taken into account as much as it could have been. While my psychiatrist certainly did care about improving my wellness, I often had to push to be heard and listened to in regards to adjusting treatment. Usually the push was for more of the same meds or more meds in general, when in actuality I needed the opposite (different meds, and less ones overall) as I healed and came out of crisis. And I felt diagnoses were treated more as a one and done thing than a process. (I was dismissed around getting additional screening, which for context my current therapist actually agrees with.) Follow-up care was difficult to book and the timing issues people mentioned are real. But I do think it's important to note these problems of timing, and even my problems with my psychiatry care, are not from lack of respect or care, but from the sheer volume of people that are treated. The center tries to serve as many people as possible and are one of the few in the area that have options for those without insurance, so naturally their systems are a bit overwhelmed -- and when dealing with traumatized patients, setbacks happen and appointments may run over, backing things up. So overall, great experience, especially for just-out-of-major-crisis care! The only real improvement to make? Have memorial hire more staff for a better patient to staff ratio! (...which is also hard during a shortage of healthcare professionals to meet demand....but hopefully that improves over the next few years...)
Family member went in with signs of panic attack and was turned away. Told to wait for his regular doctor appointment. What kind of urgent outpatient center is this? He didn't get to pass the intaker. Very disappointed
Great service, friendly staff.
I have a drinking problem and they turned me away! Good job Memorial! I will just report you to the State Health Department for neglecting me as a patient. You are not that great and Broward General.

All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
