Amazing, wonderful primary care doctor to area ALFs & nursing homes. Her whole practice is visiting elders & disabled in our local small group homes/facilities. She also visits a couple of big ones, but my experience is cozier. Dr. Valerie is from Haiti, and grew up in Mexico where her father attended medical school. As a result she speaks the 4 languages most common in south Florida! The white coat is not always reassuring but the pretty smile and holistic approach wins over even the most grouchy residents. When someone needs to sleep better, she doesn't just write a script for some poison. Supplements, herbs, lifestyle adjustments, always her go-to. Many doctors treat "the numbers" from the blood tests, but Valerie is such a Godsend to the ALF owners. Too bad she's not taking on new facilities, but I am so thankful to have her for Angel House in Pembroke Pines. Definitely the BEST Medicare doctor I've met in all my years. Thank you Dr. Heywood!
