Dr. Velat gave me my quality of life back!!! I suffered with sciatic pain from herniated discs for 11 years. After a visit to the ER and a trip to the OR, I felt like new. I cannot thank Dr Velat enough!

We met Dr. Velat in the ER right after my MRI with contrast. We went into surgery within one hour after meeting. Diagnosed with severe spinal canal stenosis regions L3-4 measuring 2.6 cm. Dr. Velat is well know in his field by staff and in the hospital as the best I found out afterward. He is smart, confident, easy to talk with and very kind mannered. The day after surgery I had no pain and needed no pain meds since. AMAZING!!!! Was home in 2 days feeling so blessed having my back fixed by Dr. Velat. I would give him 10 stars if I could! Thank you Dr. Velat.

Intelligent, compassionate, & offered an easy to understand explanation of care. I felt totally at ease with him. I did not expect a down to earth Neurosurgeon at all, must be the good work environment & the help of his Medical Assistant, Tay. AdventHealth is the top of the line.

I owe this man my life. I could not have asked for a better outcome after a L3-L4 Microdiscectomy. Dr. Velat and his team were beyond excellent and I don't have the words to describe how much relief the surgery provided. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Dr. Velat!!!

My wife fell and fractured her neck on Feb 21st. Dr. Velat instructed the ER doctor on the specific images he would need to help her and the discharge instructions told us to have her seen within 2 days. Dr. Velat subsequently canceled 2 visits and his office called to reschedule to mid-April. That would be over 2 months before an initial visit! This is a shameful way to treat a patient.
