Halifax Health's Online Review Report Card

I went here when I was 14 and got treated super bad. It was so boring left alone with my thoughts all day and all night. We just sat there wrote on our notebooks all day and we got lucky to watch tv one day. Someone I know also got treated there and they do not takehandle Autism well and the psychiatrist staff in general are rude.

I would leave no stars if possible. I brought my daughter here for the 4th time for suicidal thoughts. Afridi belittled and talked down to her. Obviously that isnt going to help her. I havent heard from this Dr. Afridi at all in the 2 days my daughter has been in there and I received a call from a nurse today saying she is being discharged. When I asked the nurse if Dr. Afridi could call me to discuss my daughters medication I was told that the doctor is too busy to call me Dont send your child here unless you want them to feel worse about themselves Dr. Afridi is one of the worst doctors I have ever met.

Sadly this is a horrible place to treat mentally ill kids. Kids should be seen at a hospital and not some clinic. But of course doctors must meet a quota to keep this place open. Insurance is loving this. The nurses frown upon caring for kids with autism and diabetes. They keep the kids busy by sitting them in front of a tv all day until they get discharged. Only to return with the same issues.

This place is a pill mill. They are very hurried and they rush you in and rush you out. You’ll be lucky if the doctor spends more than 78 minutes with your family during the appointment. Your child is nothing more than a number here.Most of the staff are not courteous but a few are. If your child has autism or special needs run away from this place as fast as you can. Jim Terryservice line administrator should never be involved in anyone’s healthcare as he simply doesn’t care about patients or have one shred of decency.

I called looking for information regarding their inpatient program for bipolar depression. The individual told me to find help somewhere else. Clearly had 0 desire to help someone. Didnt bother talking to me or asking any questions. Disrespectful and rushed me off the phone.

Horrendous experience at this center. I had Dr. Afridi for years and she treats you as poorly as a farm animal that she’s analyzing for her paycheck. She’s rude she rolls her eyes and she just isn’t suited to be treating kids with mental disadvantages.

Insurance is loving that They admit these kids for a day or two then have them all sit on a couch and watch tv. They dont even treat them. Eventually they get sent home to be back a week later.

The brown psychaitrist lady is insane. When I was their she treated me horrendous. The verbal abuse I went through should never have happend to a child. Every time I saw someone leave her office they always cried and when it was my turn she did the same. She treats you like trash and should not be allowed to work with kids. I have seen multiple therapists and she is by far the worst.

Different doctor every appointment. Every new doctor asks me what medication my son is on and then says they have something different in their system something he hasnt taken in years. Then they say the system wasnt updated but this has happened at least 56 times. They dont answer phone calls either. I have left 12 messages to reschedule an appointment no one ever calls back. Beyond frustrated. Would not recommend anyone come here. Currently looking for somewhere else to go but not many people do medication management for a child on mental health prescriptions.

Sadly this is the only behavioral service in the county. I would go somewhere else. This place has to make a quota. My son was seen by afridi. Apparently she prescribes patients with medication admits them for observation then sends them home. The other Doctors does not do that. I will not allow my son to stay here.
