John Parnell's Online Review Report Card

This doctor and staff was extremely rude! He would not continue my Buprenoriphine prescription that I've been on (the same dose) for 10 years! The office staff took my money within 3 seconds of walking in the door. After that, they were terrible! Once they have your money they could care less about helping you. He is a sorry excuse for a doctor (if you ask me). He accused me of having benzo prescriptions. I have, literally never in my 44 years, had a benzo prescription!! It was insane! I asked if he had the correct info. Honestly, it sounded like a script he was reading, to get people to shut up & take what he wanted to give them. I was horrified! He should not be practicing medicine, anywhere!

So I've been going to this doctor for 8 months probably guessing I go there today and he accuses me of being on diazepam which I know I'm not but my bad I did get two .5 Xanax to get inside of an MRI machine a while back but I am by all means not on diazepam to sit there and be accused and then him yell at me that I'm discharged because he says I'm guilty because I'm saying something is by far wrong I even offered to get my medical records and everything I felt like I was on trial and his office I go there for help not to scam a system like they think you do and by all means it is a five-star place until they pull this stuff how do you just to sit there and accuse somebody of it I don't care what the paper says there's another person by my name who has been popping up all my life I even offered to get proof but that would not have been good enough for him to be treated like such an idiot is beyond belief not everybody is out to get something and scam people some people do need the help like me what a terrible experience that was for me today I have never been treated and accused of something like that that was awful for me so now what is one to do go back to what they were doing like he cares they're not there to help you that was more just accusing I did a drug test for them and everything I have no diazepam in my system proof is in the UA

Dr. Parnell has provided excellent medical care to my wife, her aunt, who lived with her, and my wife's children since 1988, when they moved to Daytona Beach and were blessed to find Dr. Parnell. He has exceptional insight into patients' needs, provides precisely what they need with great compassion, as one rarely finds in the modern medical community. As a past chaplain at two medical schools, a US Army Hospital Chaplain, and a hospice chaplain, I have never met a more outstanding physician in my 79 years.

I went to Dr Parnell for 5 years. I loved Dr Potter who's in his office. I finally got a new Dr. Cause I have never been treated so rudely by nurses n secretaries. They like to discuss any an all your business in front of everyone in the waitingredients room. In five years theyvery never returned even one phone call. And talk about blood work n physicals, I'd get calls from stay well complaining I always needed tests but they weren't ordered. Thank god I switched doctors cause my thyroid was way off an this doctor would have never knew. They also never discuss your blood work or any tests with the patient. I'm done, I could go on all day.

I have called like 5 times and nobody Answers the phone just gos straight to voice mail Sounds like the nurses aint doing there job

I guess i'm. Used to a bigger city where there is a lot of competition in the medical office field, and rude, inefficient staff can easily be fired and quickly replaced, I'm not used to the UNBELIEVABLY unprofessional staff in this office. I guess there is a shortage of replacements in Daytona beach. I, as well as my pharmacist have been requesting my refills for three weeks now. I was told by staff, since the office is so busy,it would take a month to see me, so just go to the e,r. If I get sick. I barely get a word in before I'm transferred to a voice mail that is pointless to leave a message. I love. Dr Parnell. He is a great and caring doctor. What a shame that he has to work with a staff who is more concerned with what they're having for lunch, and making personal cell phone calls while a line of patients are waiting to check out.they should be taking orders in somebody's drive through, or cleaning toilets rather than work in a professional office with a great doctor. Yes, that's harsh, but love your job, treat the patients like you would want to be treated if you were sick, or go work some where else where it's OKAY to be lazy like a mattress tester

Please stay away. So many reasons from age of physician to incompetent staff to horrible location.

First you wait in the reception room for 2 hrs., then in the exam room for an hour. The doctor wrote one Rx my insurance would only approve with doctor's call to them, but office refused to do so. Another Rx I always have had was forgotten to refill. Two other Rx's I had questions about. You can call for days and most of the time it goes to voicemail. IF you get thru, you are told the nurse will call you back but they NEVER do. If I could put a minus star, I would.

The office doesn't answer the phones. You sit all day in waiting room. They don't inform you of an issue with tests then you end up in the ER and emitted! Now the doctor tells the staff to set me up with physical therapy and another test, so they say they will set it up and call me the next day. That was 3 months ago and no call and they don't answer or return calls. Don't go to these people!

Dr. Parnell is a sweet and helpful doctor who has been practicing for many years. HOWEVER, his staff is the WORST. If you try to reorder RX, if the staff feels you don't need it, the request from the pharmacy is ignored. When you call about it, you are told a nurse will call you back, but they don't. No written Rx's are given. All is done thru the pharmacy and Dr. Parnell's staff. So the patient is screwed.
