List of Matthew Merrell's Reviews
Dr. Merrell upon first meet was thorough and professional. Unfortunately, after three years in his care, I have never been able to see the doctor again for visits, other than perhaps one time several years ago. Even when I scheduled specifically with the doctor, ahead of time , I was ultimately only being seen by his Physicians assistant . For those that are not aware, a Physicians Assistant is just that - not an MD. . I was advised that even if I made a specific appointment with the doctor, I would most likely only be seen by a PA. due to Dr. Merrell’s possible surgery schedule. Well, he must be doing a lot of surgery because as I said, in the last three years, I’ve never been able to see him again even if I was seriously concerned about my kidney stone issues, I could still not guarantee that I would see Merrell, who was supposedly my attending physician, my doctor. I called the office to try and make an appointment with Dr Merrell again to no avail. I was advised by the front desk person that the PAs were doctors, and that there was no issue with my seeing a PA as they were indeed doctors. The front desk woman continued to provoke an argument. She was arrogant and aggressive, and continued to insist that I was wrong that a PA was a medical doctor. At that point in time , I was done with this office! I advised her that I would like a copy of my records, and I would no longer be coming back to the office. It’s been over two months since that occurred and today I get a certified letter from Dr Merrell’s office signed by him that he would be dismissing me as a patient . No phone call no discussion, I am completely shocked by this, especially as I have referred many patients to Dr Merrell from my own office as I am a PhD clinical Sexologist. No matter, as my family physician referred me to another urologist for kidney stone issue months ago. The upsetting thing is that there appears to be no personal relationship between Dr. and Patients. Perhaps if you’re a surgical patient , you get to actually see him??? Pawning patients off on PAs( physicians assistants) for over 2 years or more is not my idea of a Doctor that gives a darn about you or your medical issues. 🤮
My wife saw Dr M at the hospital and he was wonderful, attentive and more importantly was able to help my wife with Kidney stones.
Are you son of Robert Merrill❓ I knew dr. Merrill years ago, he was a great dr. Just FYI, a positive note.
Dr. Merrell is outstanding. He performed a pretty rough surgery on me and has followed up with me since. I am extremely satisfied with the results and will continue to do routine visits and exams with him.
I have been to the office and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I got an infection, the office staff needs to be better trained and I was told when I got there that they had just called me and canceled the appointment and didn’t I get the voicemail. I never did. They did the same thing to an elderly man who came in just after me. Do not recommend and one star. Please go anywhere else but here.
My dad had two scheduled appointments and Dr. Merrill No showed for both. So rude and disrespectful.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
