I had a growth on my forehead that, years earlier, another dermatologist said it would never become melanoma after removing a part of it. The lab results showed it was benign. I saw Dr. Hecker for an exam, and he was suspicious of this growth. He biopsied it, and it was melanoma. Fortunately, Dr. Hecker caught it early (Stage 0). I subsequently had the margins removed. No melanoma was seen in the margins, as Dr. Hecker had removed all of the cancer during the biopsy. The surgeon Dr. Hecker referred me to was also excellent and told me there was a 0% chance the melanoma would return to the site or metastasize due to Dr. Hecker catching it so early. Dr. Hecker is an excellent physician. He is kind and caring. He listens carefully and takes his time to explain things to you and your options for treatment. His credentials are excellent. Living in Florida, seeing a dermatologist regularly for an exam is essential. I was very fortunate to have chosen Dr. Hecker.

My husband went in to get fillers on jowl lines, and was not asked by Dr. Hacker whether he had any new medications. In the middle of the night my husband noticed blood lines where the filler went in. Because Dr. Hacker had not asked him about new medications, my husband didn't mention he was on blood thinners which caused the bleeding. After a trip to the ER, he was pronounced okay. Also, I went once and the exam was less than 3 minutes--Dr. Hacker didn't examine my scalp where I later had cells that had to be removed via mohs surgery. Let's not get into the 'ka-ching' of the practice.

Horrible experience. I think they use diluted fillers. Definitely overcharge, after they quote a price. Please go somewhere else

My very first visit was last week. I’ll never go back. Have history of Melanoma and asked if I was having a full body check. Every first derm visit you get one, especially with my history. You have to leave copy of your credit card and Cvv code, not sure why because he won’t do a thing until the card is swiped. I paid my copayment then when it was discovered I needed a bio freeze to a suspicious site I had to get out my credit card before he squirted my leg with the stuff, it’s about $59 per spray, not about, it IS 59 A spray. I have never been itemized so anally before. He examines you in a dimly lit room too! Don’t go! In the sitting room he has blown up the patients think I’m great on the walls. Funny they aren’t dated...

I saw Dr Hecker this afternoon. I found him to be a wonderful dermatologist. He listened and diagnosed my problem very quickly. I left feeling very confident that the medication he sold me would take care of my problem fairly rapidly. I recommend Dr Hecker very highly JR

Such a kind, gentle doctor. He removed a large cyst painlessly. He’s an excellent Physician, does a great job. Would definitely refer him to family and friends.

They have strange policies. They want any balances the insurance company does not pay to be paid by you within 45 days and want your credit card upfront. I was a licensed insurance agent in FL and CA. The Provider (DOC) performs a procedure. They bill the insurance company. The Insurance Company (Carrier) has a rate they pay for a certain procedure but if there is a balance, as there often is, usually the Doc will write it off. Not this Doc. They want you to pay the difference and you will NEVER know what the agreed upon rate is (between the Doc and the Carrier), but you will get a bill from the Doc. You do not want to have to pay the difference. I tried explaining this to the staff but they really do not know - they just want a credit card upfront. I have found after all my surgeries that anyone that wants this payment info upfront, is usually worried about payment on the backend due to dissatisfied patients. Do no harm right! Watch out for this office. There are plenty of dermatologist that will treat you without worrying about a bill. They will tell you they don't even know what the final bill will be except you will be on the hook for it. OUCH!!!
