Gary Hecht's Online Review Report Card

Called the day of my appointment to advise he retired "last week".

Had a scheduled appointment for 10am on November 24th. Received a call at 830am advising me the appointment was cancelled because the doctor had retired the previous Friday (November 20)!!! No reason given. Since he was very expressive about his opinion that the Coronavirus is no worse than the regular seasonal flu, perhaps he found out otherwise. Other speculation is that perhaps a malpractice suit was in order? I was told he could no longer write prescriptions.

My husband and my father are patients of Dr. Hecht, and we find him to be very professional, thorough, and compassionate. His office staff are excellent as well.

Strongly advise against Dr. Hecht. Either incompetent or uncaring, even with long-term patients. Were recently lied to by practice.

Been going here for years. Dr. Hecht is an amazing doctor. He takes all the time you need to discuss any issues you have. He is prompt at ordering any tests needed for diagnosis. He will not hesitate to give you a referral to someone who is very good in the necessary field so you can be confident you are seeing a good specialist. Dr. Hecht and his staff are very kind and treat you like family.

I am a eighty yr. old person and have never been a patient at a practice as professional as Dr. Hecht and his staff.

Dr. Hecht always takes the time to listen closely to all that I have to say. He explains clearly all of the medical findings, diagnoses and his treatment recommendations. Dr. Hecht is knowledgeable, professional and truly cares about me, as his patient. I never leave his office with unanswered questions. I highly recommend Dr. Hecht.

If I could give Dr Hecht a negative rating I would a thousand times over. I've been under the treatment of a cardiologist since I was a child. I've gone through more testing than I care to go into detail about. I've fainted more times than I can count because orthostatic hypotension is incredibly hard to manage. I've been on medication since I was 21. Dr Hecht couldn't be bothered to hear what I had to say in order to get an accurate history. He lacked the humanity and compassion to see that I've struggled and went to him for help because I wasn't at the proper dose of my medication. Sure you're not going to see my issue on an ekg because my problem is positional. It would have been simple enough to prove by taking my blood pressure while sitting, standing and lying down, but he didnt bother to do that. I'm not sure if his issue is gross incompetence or negligence, but even while doubting a lifetime of medical evidence, I had enough sense to get a second opinion.

I've been a patient of Dr. Hecht for a number of years. I have found him to be professional, highly competent, and compassionate. He is very thorough and is always willing to listen to my concerns.
