I was seen by Dr Scruggs and staff for a serious infection near the eye. It was an emergency and I had already been seen by other eye doctors who had not properly addressed the problem and it was getting serious. Dr Scruggs was compassionate, competent, and caring. He arranged to take care of the problem right away and fixed it correctly the first time. I could not be more pleased. His assistant was also on the ball and knowledgeable and caring. Top Rating.

You may want to find a different facility and/or not use Doctor Scruggs. Although the staff is very kind, this facility and Doctor Scruggs do not seem to care much about the patients. It took me months to get my initial consultation. I was then sent for a cat scan which wasn’t scheduled until a week later. Another week later, I still haven’t heard from the doctor. I am having a lot of issues with my vision, but I can't get a call back with the results. I was told by two different staffers that I would be called back this week. Yet I have heard nothing. I don't know my next steps and don't have a scheduled appointment. They don't even have a facility to do surgeries, yet they are taking on new patients. On Monday, I will be calling my optometrist to recommend a different surgeon.

Wow, what a positive experience with my eyelid surgery and post surgical visits. The result of the surgery opened up a whole new world in my peripheral vision. And I am told that I look 10 years younger! I couldn't have been more pleased with my results.

Dr. Scruggs did my DCR (Eye Duct Obstruction) surgery in December 2022. From the initial appt. to the surgery procedure Dr. Scruggs has been outstanding in describing the procedure in detail and explaining any and all questions I had. He would always inquire if I had any more questions. He is unconditionally a great doctor. Now after four months from the procedure the weeping of the eye is 100% dry and has been post surgical date. Also Dr. Scruggs assistant and entire team members were above reproach in each of their services. I am very pleased with my experience having this surgery and consider “Central Florida Eye Specialists” truly specialists in their field.

Both Drs Scruggs and his wife performed surgery that other doctors refused to do. I would not go anywhere else. The entire staff is polite.

I had upper and lower lid surgery (I don't know the proper terms?!?) 6 wks. ago and couldn't be happier with the results so far. I'm still in in the healing process but the change is profound. I want to acknowledge both Dr. Scruggs for their time in explaining the procedures, expertise and kindness in addressing my concerns as well as the entire office staff. I've been to the Lake Mary and DeLand offices and couldn't have met a nicer group of people. I was warmly welcomed at both locations and everyone I dealt with involved in my particular situation was so incredibly kind. They have a great staff that treats you like you're the most important patient that day, as well as the surgery follow-up with Dr. Dawn. This has been such an easy and rewarding experience and I just can't say enough about the way I've been treated. I encourage anyone considering having this done to make an appointment asap. They're awesome!
