Best Primary doctor I have ever had. She is very smart and great bed side manner. Her staff is very kind and efficient.
I was a patient for 14 years… was happy until I needed records sent for insurance purposes and it was taking a long time.. the office manager, Angela, was very rude when I called to inquire.. saying they were short staffed. Then I had my yearly visit with Dr. Widdows and a young man calls me back. Never introduced himself, and I figured he would not stay for my visit with her, as I had female and hormonal things I wanted to discuss.. she comes in and he stays, still no mention of who he is and would I mind if he stays. I felt uncomfortable with him there but since I was letting her take lead in her office, I continued without addressing what I needed. I called the following day to express my feelings and was passed onto angela. She immediately got defensive and told me it was my responsibility to speak up, and this is how the office is run with interns being there. In the 14 years I never experienced that. I asked her to have the doctor call me as I wanted to express my dissatisfaction with the visit and how I was just spoken to by her. She was rude and said she’d tell her. No call from the doctor. I called again after 5 days and spoke to Penny who took notes and said she would give Dr. Widdows this info… as a client for 14 years, how disappointing it was to not get a call from the doctor, as I told penny I was leaving the practice. I felt very disposable as a patient. The billing is totally disorganized also.. never received a bill and yet every visit I went to I was told I have a past due balance. Dr. Widdows is a good doctor but dropped the ball when not asking a patient if she’s okay with a young male sitting in for her yearly visit. I also would have appreciated telling her how unprofessional and rude Angela was and that contributed largely to my leaving the practice. Donna is great and so is Stephanie and those are two people I will miss, but the disorganized billing and rude office manager I will not miss.
Great experience with Dr. Widdows practice. Dr. Widdows spends time to completely analyze my problems and come up with the best solutions. She has top staff, including doctor and P/A, nurses. Dr. Widdows referrals are to top doctors. It is easy to get an appointment and test results from her very efficient staff. I have recommended her practice to several of my friends. My most recent five star experience with booking a next day appointment by telemedicine for my wife was perfect. I called the make an appointment, prompt #1 and explained what my wife needed an appointment since I, as a business owner was able to understand how a busy five star medical practice is able to handle the many daily calls for appointments. Just keep calling the appointment line if messages are not returned in a timely manner, and tell the staff what you need. I have referred two neighbors recently, and they confirmed that they received excellent five star medical advise from dr. Widdows or very efficient medical professional staff.
If you are looking to be treated by an actual Doctor this is not the place to go. In 3 years I have seen her 1 1/2 times with a special appt. only. The 1st time was upon insistence of seeing the Doctor I had chosen because of her credentials. The 1/2 time was after 4 weeks of trying to get CT Scan results of a lesion on my liver and having to deal all that time with the most unprofessional staff person. The Dr. saw me in the blood draw room for my appt. and left several times to see other patients leaving me sitting there waiting for an answer. Dr. Widdows was not interested in how I was treated by that staff person. Another time I fell, hurt my back, went to see them, they told me they would call to set up an ex-ray, I waited 3 days in pain, to find out they forgot to call when I called them to find out what was going on. 8 days later after calling them for the results, they didn't call me, I found out it was fractured! I'm going to find a Doctor who actually cares about my well-being.
She answers all of my questions and has greatly improved my health. Of that there is no doubt.
She tells the patient how to feel, has no patients with the elderly, do not waste your time going to her office to see only student nurses that are always new faces. Just look at her 2 1/2 stars after 26 years!!!
In 2 occasions the doctor denied 2 different prescriptions she ordered for me. This made me feel very uncomfortable. The first time I got home and looked at the medication and it had been prescribed by her. The second time she took the time to check the history and she found it... Very difficult to get an appointment. I had to go in person even to ask the staff to send the prescription to the pharmacy...
Office staff, sounded like a broken record, Friday, my spouse is really ill, called for a Tele health or just a prescription for a z pack to treat covid! Bianca said come back on Monday, totally unacceptable. 2 min. Talk with Dr. Widows, and a call in prescription, but no, come back on monday!! Been a patient 18 yes. Treated like garbage, thanks Bianca
Well she would be 5 stars, as she is well educated, Board Certified and one hell of a Doctor! The problem comes in trying to get an appointment. I was and am, one of her first patients, even to the point she asked how did you find me? As her office was just being detailed, which is beautiful, but I do my research working in the computer field since 1980. Bottom line, she taught at Wellington Regional Medical Center, is well respected and I have my annual physical in a few days, which to this point has always come back mostly positive for my health. Though if anything is found she and her contacts will provide the best medical care available.
Is it just me or did you also think doctors did, in fact, see sick patients in the office? My 90 y.o. dad got sick. She would not even see him with a negative PCR test so now he is in the hospital 3 days and counting with pneumonia. When he goes home, we pray he doesn't get his bedridden wife sick! My advice would be to go to a different doctor-one who administers to their patients when they need her.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
