A colonoscopy is never a fun experience. I have had several in my life and just completed the first one with Dr Kaplan and the team at the Delray Outpatient Center. Blown away by a totally professional and caring experience. Everybody involved from the office staff, the RNs, the anesthesiologists and last but not least Dr Kaplan were efficient yet calm and caring. I am in no hurry to have another gastro procedure, but when I do, this is the place!

Dr. Kaplan answered my question concerning a drug needed for reflux. And helped me make the right decision to benefit my care.

He has been taking care of my father in the hospital who's been internally bleeding for 3 weeks. Dr Kaplan is excellent caring and very polite.

Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience with Dr Kaplan. His lack of concern, compassion, communication and care was really unbelievable. I went in for a routine colonoscopy as healthy as possible and woke up in extreme pain. He dismissed my pain and told me it was cramps. When the pains worsened that evening and I couldn’t walk or stand, I knew he was wrong. The doctor on call took hours to respond and told me there was nothing he could do. It took Dr Kaplan 10 days to finally send me for my first catscan to find out I had an 11 cm hematoma on my inner abdomen that he says was probably caused by the scope he used which may have caused a slight tear of my colon from my abdomen. It took over 4 months for the pain to subside and for me to return to normal activity. Five months later, I am not even certain the hematoma is completely gone. I had internal bleeding and am very lucky it stopped when it did. I was assured I would not be responsible for any subsequent X-rays, bloodwork or catscans that were a result of this situation. But in the end, I was told although this was a consequence of my colonoscopy, I was fully responsible to pay all the bills. It was very difficult ever getting a hold of him or his office staff. I would need to leave multiple messages before anyone responded. Truly very upsetting experience physically and emotionally and I hope no one else ever has to go through what I did.

Dismissed my extreme pain for 10 days until I was sent for my first catscan to find out I had a large hematoma on my inner abdomen resulting from the colonoscopy. Took over 4 months for the pain to subside and return to normal activity. His office was impossible to get in touch with. Several messages had to be left before I would get any type of response from anyone. Quite the unpleasant experience.

Awful experience. The lack of care, lack of concern, lack of compassion and lack of communication was beyond horrible from Dr Kaplan and his office staff. Impossible to get a hold of anyone at anytime. Doctors on call don't return calls. I went into a routine colonoscopy as healthy as possible and woke up in screaming pain. My pain was dismissed as cramps. Later that evening, I knew it was more than cramping as I couldn't stand or walk. Took ten days for him to send me for catscan where we found out I had a 3 inch hematoma on my inner abdomen where his probe had tore my colon from my abdomen. Took over 4 months for pains to subside and return to normal daily activity. I am very lucky that my internal bleeding stopped when it did and that I am still here to write this review. He had zero bedside manner and no empathy for the pain and suffering he created. Truly upsetting. I am still trying to pay off all the subsequent medical bills he caused for X-rays, catscans, bloodwork etc.
