My girl friend had a appointment wisdom teeth removal. And God was it a horrible experience the doctor Mathew Rand was rude and extremely unprofessional. The procedure started at 9:30 am and at about 10am she was wake and yelling in pain. Her mother was there to. Mr Mathew Rand said to my girlfriend "stop acting like a child you dont need your mother" her mom when to see what was going what was going. Than the doctor said I need to keep her quite your disrupting my other patients. He said to the front desk person call the cops. All her mother was asking if this was normal and isn't she supposed to be still under. The doctors assistant where wonderful Mr. Mathew Rand not no bit... they gave no post op information of any kind.. no description on the medication she will need to take. I WOULD NEVER USE MR MATHEW RAND FOR ANYTHING horrible doctor... needs more training on his part and how to talk to patients... I give this a -5 star review.... as well as the where trying to cover up the report me and her mother over heard the doctor and the front deck talking. Just never bring your loved one to see this man rude, unprofessional.
I would have given a negative star if the option was available. The doctor was very unprofessional and yelled at my daughter for crying. She was getting her for wisdom teeth pulled out and was supposed to be sedated throughout the entire process. She came out of anesthesia within 30 minutes. There was a whole another half hour to 40 minutes left in the process when my daughter started screaming the doctors response to her was you don’t need your mom stop acting like a child you are an adult. He further said you were disturbing all my other patients whilst there was no patient in any of the offices. When I decided to intervene, to ask, why is my daughter not sedated he threatened to call the cops on me because I was questioning his work. The dental assistant, Tony and Juli were wonderful. The doctor definitely needs to get a training and bedside manners or how to conduct himself in front of his patients. The doctor needs a lesson and compassion. we were not provided with any post off instructions. We don’t even know whether she was given any medication. What time should her next dose of medication be very unprofessional and unethical. The office manager said it is completely OK for the doctor to see behave like a an adult don’t act like a child to a patient who is in pain.
Extraction of 4 wisdom teeth under complete sedation. Patient was not given enough sedation for the entire procedure and the doctors ego was hurt when questioned. He was reckless and hurt the patient in his tantrum by kicking the oxygen tube. He was unsanitary and not safe by touching the door/tables/phones and using the same gloves to continue working on the patient. As the procedure was being completed the office manager asked me to pull up in front of the building and they would wheel Sharon to the parking lot. NO post op summary NO post instructions NO instruction on the medication. Nothing was provided to me. Patient was still wobbly and was incapacitated and no instruction were given. Unacceptable. I had to call back several times to office to get answers on how to take care of the patient. To further aggravate the patient Dr. Rand calls after 7PM to follow up however gets into an argument and accuses the patient of self inflicting the wound and hung up.
Terrible bedside manners. No compassion. lack of anesthesia skill. Absolutely does not explain and does not provide any instructions.
Find another surgeon, run as far away as you can from this man! Matthew Rand should not be able to practice anywhere, he doesn’t even deserve his medical license. From the very beginning to the very end, this man was very arrogant, pompous, and could care less for his patient’s well being. I first met him at my other dental clinic through a referral since I needed all of my wisdom teeth taken out. He stated that he only did the surgeries on a Monday and no other days. When I asked if there was any other way around it, seeing as I need to take time off of work and that cost money, his response to me was: “No, inconvenient right”. That’s when I found that the clinic who took my CT scans can do it on a Friday, which allows me to recover over the weekend. Only downside was, Matthew Rand was still the surgeon (funny how he didn’t mention he can do them on a Friday at another clinic). Also mind you, his office manager Jodi, is a disgusting and disrespectful woman to people of color. She will blatantly ignore you, disrespect you, and throw a nasty attitude towards you. So on the day of my surgery, Matthew Rand decided to start joking around with me when he saw I was super nervous- saying how he was going to strap me to the chair, and use the biggest needle he could find. That caused my heart rate to rise and he had to wait for me to calm down because of his in-compassionate words. During the surgery, he did not give me enough anesthesia which caused me to wake up in the middle of the surgery, screaming in pain. To which his response was: “be quiet, you’re disturbing my patient. Act like an adult, you don’t need your mother”. My mother was outside in the waiting room and heard of all this. She went to the back to check on me, and started to question what he was doing. Matthew Rand did not like being questioned and decided to call the cops. Afterwards, he did NOT WASH HIS HANDS AND CONTINUED TO OPERATE ON ME WHILE TRIPPING OVER MY OXYGEN MASK! After the whole procedure was done, he did not talk to me to confirm if the surgery was successful or not. Did not explain post surgery care, and did not tell me about the medications I needed to take. When I got home, I found out that he ripped a chunk of my face and lip off during the surgery!!!! He then called me later that night, harassing me and stating that I bit my lip off in the car! I think someone would have noticed if that were true! Three days after, and my lip is now infected where he tore off a good chunk of flesh. I have to have another doctor now fix what he did. Please, do not see Matthew Rand, it could cost you your life!
Saw Dr Rand years ago for an emergency when a veneer came off and I needed placed back on. The location was convenient and his office said it wouldn't be a problem. They charged me $50, seated the veneer. The veneer fell off the following morning. When I walked back in holding the veneer in my hand I was told they couldn't help me. They kept my $50 and I had to find another dentist to put the veneer back on.
After visiting two local surgeons (Aventura) we went with Dr. Rand because he was well informed, fair priced, calm, had a great rapport with my son, and kind natured. After the procedure his follow was excellent and the work was clean and well done. Excellent choice.
Arogant
I scheduled an appt. with Dr. Rand to pull two teeth at the advice of my (then) dentist who is with Sage Dental. It appears Dr. Rand is what is known as, a "floater". Having different offices at different locations. To make an appt. with him I had to secure that appointment by paying $100.00 up front. Even though I have excellent dental insurance. I paid, he was funded before I ever walked into Sage Dental, the office he was scheduled to visit on that day. I was 15 minutes early, having left my job to embark on these "emergency extractions, 2 of them". Well, there I sat....for 2.5 hrs. Finally, I was ushered to a dental chair....waited another 30 minutes. A man stepped in to my room, asked me if I wanted implants or dentures. At that moment I deduced he must be Dr. Rand. I replied "wouldn't it be necessary to create a mold of my mouth to have an option"? With that "the man" (because he never introduced himself), walked out. His assistant stepped in, she explains that I must reschedule a future appointment and ushered to the front desk. I was indeed livid. I missed 3 hrs. of work, took 14 days of antibiotics to get ready for this oral surgery, and now must reschedule and retake antibiotics. Needless to say, I NEVER went back. He got paid for looking at my face from my insurance company, under the code of "partial consult". He has no bedside manner, disrespects the working man's time constraints and in general thinks way too highly of himself. Herein lies the mantra of my title! I am a gold certified motorcycle mechanic, maybe not as glorified as having the title of surgeon printed on my business card. I do know this though, people's lives depend on the quality of work I do. I take pride In knowing when a bike leaves my lift....it is safe and at it's best possible performance. Dr. Rand it might do you some good to step down here with the rest of us and show some pride in your own profession.
