List of Sperling Prostate Center's Reviews
Dr Sperling and the entire staff were very compassionate, professional and courteous! The area and the clinic in Del Ray Beach, Fl are beautiful and aesthetically sound. I had an MRI, biopsy and Focal Laser Treatment all within a five day span. My diagnosis was a non-aggressive tumor was discovered on one side of my prostate . Only that affected was laser ablated within less than an hour. The staff also did timely follow ups and was extremely ager to answer any questions you may have. The Sperling Prostate Center gave me peace and healing.
I am an avid cyclist and have had BPH for years, and a somewhat elevated PSA because of it. I have had my PSA checked every 6 months which was how my prostate cancer was detected. I went from a 7.6 to 12.1. When my urologist in Iowa laid out my 2 and only 2 options, my wife was betting on my answer, and she was correct. I said "NO" to surgery or radiation with the 50/50 odds of having permanent incontinence and impotence!! So my wife went on a mission to find "something else", and she did! We did our research, then laid it all in God's hands, asking Him to open the doors if this was our way to go. One by one the doors opened. I qualified for the procedure with my Gleason scores and location of the tumors. We then submitted the request to my insurance, knowing this was still considered experimental. After 3 denials, I got a call saying that they were covering the cost!! That was a loud and clear YES answer, so we made the trip to Florida and had the FLA done. The staff here is amazing, and I am very glad I came to this clinic. The much more thorough MRI at the Sperling Prostate Center detected ANOTHER TUMOR that the biopsy in Iowa had missed, so they got that one, too! I am still in my recovery period, anxious to get back on my bicycle again Thanksgiving week. I am feeling fantastic knowing I walked out of the Center cancer free! Thank you for the caring staff, and your ground breaking procedure that has given my life back to me, my whole life, with ZERO side effects! I am telling every man I talk to to make sure they have their PSA monitored regularly, and about your truly life saving procedure. Thank you.
My journey started about 5 years ago in watching and waiting on a lesion that appeared on an MRI. It changed a few months ago when the annual report changed its rating status to a need to biopsy. I had been researching alternatives to standard approaches on dealing with prostate cancer for several years and that is when I discovered the Sperling Prostate Center and the work they did there using a laser focal ablation process that almost ensures no side effects post procedure opposed to much different odds with removal, proton or radiation. There are never 100% guarantees. Two additional lesions were identified with their state-of-the-art equipment and software application not previously reported on my recent MRIs locally. One of those also came back malignant in addition to the original one identified. The process from education of cancer and procedures provided by them, to the MRI mapping to biopsy to ablation was seamless and well-orchestrated by each of the staff members and Dr. Sperling himself involved with my case. The level of communication, front staff check-in, education, care, execution and eventual results were the best I have seen in my experience with medical facilities. The knowledge of each person and their approach to my care was amazing! I want to personally thank Nurse Jackie for the thorough educating process, Nurses Stephanie, Kate and Misty for their compassionate care, Charlie and James for their support in MRI, Nurse Coordinator Lillian for exhibiting her passion for what they do there and especially Dr. Sperling for his pursuit of this top-level medical approach to prostate care that leads the field! Once you are there and get to know each person you can tell that each one is part of a great family and they readily bring you into it with compassion and care! I'll look forward to reporting in the future that my issues have been stabilized and so appreciate the new lease on life provided to me! More than highly recommend you seek answers at the Sperling Prostate Center to your specific needs.
One star for the prompt reply to my "contact us" submission. Shocked to find out on the phone $27,000-$30,000 for treatment, out of pocket! Geez, you would think a Doctor, who will do no harm, would actually care enough to have reasonable prices for cancer imaging treatment. $2700 to $3,000 maybe but $30,000?! Exorbitant! Mmmm....money maker or genuine care?
Just a few words to describe the staff and services at Sperling Prostate Center: highly knowledgeable, clinical excellence, personal warmth and caring, state-of-the-art medical technology including MRI boosted by Artificial Intelligence, attention to each person's unique needs with great explanations, and choice of treatments best suited to each patient. 5 stars!
After getting the disturbing diagnosis of having prostate cancer in 2020, I was traumatized when I realized many negative results from radical prostatectomy. I was excited to learn about Focal Prostate Ablation. I contacted the Sperling Prostate Center and received a call back the same day. The caring and sensitive case worker assured me that Dr. Sperling would review my case to determine if I was viable candidate for ablation. Dr. Sperling gave me confidence that his treatment was the right option for me. I had the procedure the next month. It was a one-day outpatient procedure. Dr. Sperling and his staff were very supportive and comforting. The healing process was remarkably painless and I was returning to normalcy the following week. I’m grateful that I placed my confidence in Dr. Sperling and his exceptional staff who gave me the ultimate one-on-one personalized care. I recommend this remarkable treatment to anyone who is a candidate. Buz Pitts Orlando, Florida
Hello, my name is Joseph Fierro an educator from New York City. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Dan Sperling and his team. Unfortunately, I was first diagnosed with cancer at a relatively young age and as you can imagine I was completely devastated. Two of the largest Cancer hospitals in the world as well as many other medical facilities explained to me that I had multiple tumors or lesions and due to my age I would have no choice but to have my prostate removed and at my age there was no way that I would have my prostate removed considering the horrifying implications that this would entail upon my social life and just my life in general. It was explained to me by multiple hospitals that due to my age being so young radiation would not be a viable option since it could lead to other forms of cancer down the road. Nevertheless, after speaking to multiple doctors a prosthamectomy or radiation was completely out of the question. So needless to say there's two things you do a lot more of when you're diagnosed with cancer, the first is pray and the other is research. It was a true miracle finding Dr. Dan Sperling and I'll never forget the first time we had spoken. He always remained optimistic and confident, two characteristics that I was desperately in need of in a doctor. He also seemed to be a true leader and pioneer with regards to his protocol in ablating prostate cancer. I've been now seeing Dr Sperling for over 11 years and I'm delighted and proud to say that after his procedure I have been cancer-free for well over 11 years and my PSA has been within the vicinity of 0.27 which he explained may fluctuate but always maintained beneath a 0.5. When I had cancer my PSA was approximately 4.7 or so and within a 2-year period spiked from 1.3 to the 4.7 mark requiring a biopsy. My advice to any man out there is not to waste your time and go somewhere else for your biopsy. It is best to go straight to Dr Sperling so he can begin to create a map of hope for your recovery. Every time I go see Dr Sperling for my follow-ups just seeing his face and the great members of his staff such as Nurse Lily, John the technician, and Samuel who were the initial members of his team that cared for me during my procedure and now all his new staff members on his team which have made a great addition, I recall as if it was yesterday, even though it was over 11 years ago the most devastating time of my life being diagnosed with cancer something we always think someone else may have but not me. That said, I have always been empathetic for others but now I've been so much more regarding this devastating disease and other diseases like it. At the same time whenever seeing Dr Sperling I am reminded of one of the most happiest moments in my life where some of the top hospitals in the world gave me no hope, Dr Sperling not only gave me hope but also provided me with what I believe to be my cure. Dr Sperling, please know I will never forget you and your team, keep spreading hope for men across our great nation, we need more doctors like you who are not only masters of their craft but genuinely good people. If any patient wants to speak to me about my experience feel free to ask Dr Sperling for my number and I will be more than happy to share my experience. I wish you all the best from the bottom of my heart, I know what you're going through but now I also know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Blessings, Joe Fierro (The teacher from Brooklyn)
I'm very disappointed with this EXPERiMENTAL treatment, they mention that I was "the perfect candidate for this treatment",knowing that I had an agressive cancer based on the biopsy so after this focal laser treatment, the PSA dropped but after a year it was going up very quickly so the cancer came back again. It definitely did not work for much time and . I recommend not to go through this treatment instead go through a surgery or radiotherapy.
NB: Dr. Sterling does not take Medicare. We paid for all services 100% out of pocket. We reached out to Dr. Sperling's office due to increasing PSA numbers and a troubling family history. Dr. Sperling's office got us in the next day and performed the MRI. Afterwards Dr. Sperling explained the results in detail, and then performed the biopsy. This process allowed us to immediately begin exploring our options to address an aggressive diagnosis. Yes, our appointment was delayed, and we were there much later than we anticipated. That is nothing compared to the fact that we can now begin exploring treatment options. We would highly recommend Dr. Sperling to anyone with a concerning PSA history. Follow up: Dr. Sperling called and provided a lot of information about our diagnosis and treatment options. He is putting us in contact with the appropriate specialists for our next steps. We are very glad that we made the choice to be proactive and reach out to Dr. Sperling's office for our MRI and in-bore biopsy.
On November 6, I began the process to determine if I was a qualified candidate for the FLA. I had a PSA of 3.95 and a Gleason of 3+3. This treatment could be the answer to the solution I was looking for. Doctor Sperling and his staff of Lillian, Van, Carleen, Ebony, John and Charlie we’re so good at what they we call to do and took time in their area of expertise to help me to a final conclusion. On November 8 I had the procedure and the following day the post opt and then left back home to Detroit Michigan. It was outstanding. Thank YOU and I am so grateful for all of you and how you really serve people.
