List of Halifax Health's Reviews
We started our therapy services at another company but unfortunately had a negative experience with the therapist. My toddler now goes to Brooks Rehab for Speech and Occupational therapies I cannot speak highly enough of this place My little one has big emotions and they are so so patient with him here. It took a few days to warm up to his therapists here then he started running to the door every visit. They are so detailed with his evaluations and talking to us about his progress answering all my questions after visits. Weve seen steady improvement with our toddlers communication at home will continue therapies here. Scheduling has been wonderful about working with us to schedule appointments around my work schedule aswell
Worst Hospital experience ever Between 4 nurses and 2 doctors not one head to toe assessment was completed. We arrived initially at Port Orange Halifax. Triage went pretty quickly as my husband was barely able to walk with extreme dizziness and extremely high blood pressure 156110. He was taken back around 430pm only about 20 minutes after getting there. His first nurse was pretty attentive from what I seen. He had multiple test completed in the first few hours to include CT labs xrays. At 530pm the doctor said she was placing an order for an MRI STAT. Per our paper work this was entered in the computer just before 6pm. Quite some time had passed so I ended up finding someone in the halls to find out who will be bringing him for his MRI. According to this person the MRI machine had been turned off and the tech that runs it left at 645pm... Why would someone allow this person to close the machine down with STAT order in the queue since before 6pm. So at this point we are now waiting for someone to come from the main hospital to come reboot the machine and complete the test. The female tech arrived close to 8pm and unfortunately could not get the machine to boot up. We found out during this mess that machine has been having issues for 3 YEARS now. We asked to speak with the charge nurse of the ER. We were upset trying figure out what is going on this is around 830pm mind you shift change had occurred around 7pm and we had no idea who his nurse was. The charge nurse was very rude and uncaring at addressing our concerns. We asked to speak with the hospital supervisor per her account she is also the hospital supervisor and there was nobody above her that we could speak with. The new doctor came at this time as well and started to explain to us that the prior doctor had placed an order for both a Stat mri and mra as well as a neuro consult. We were only aware of the MRI prior to this mention. As everything had came up negative and the machine was broke we were trying to get discharged and have a referral for an mri and neuro to follow up on the next day as treatment. The only way they would allow us leave is AMA as we decided to stay and had to wait for transportation as I could not transport him to Halifax on Clyde Morris per policy. Just to recall the STAT orders were in the system before 6pm. The transportation did not arrive and have him to Halifax on Clyde till 1130pm. The STAT MRI and MRa occurred around 1230am over 6 hours after they were ordered. When he was dropped off the EMTs told the charge nurse Kelly who would be watching him that his blood pressure was really high and he was here for testing to rule out stroke. He was placed into a hallway on a stretcher with the backeract patients. No one attended to him. He was cold and throwing up. Had to listen to the backeract patients scream and yell profanity through the entire stay in the hallway on a stretcher. Never assessed no blood pressure checks nothing for the vomiting. He told the girl at the desk he had to throw up and she pointed to the bathroom were he went twice on his own with extreme dizziness and possible stroke as this was not ruled out yet. He was picked up after 4am and the EMT loaded him and tending to him. At the time they picked him up he was balled up as he was cold and nauseated. Per my husband they were the only ones they really assessed him and showed compassion. When he finally arrived back to the port orange hospital he was given meclazine for the dizziness. First dose of medication during this entire stay. And then discharged. He was still unable to walk and was still extremely dizzy. The tech took him out to my car in a wheelchair and helped him into my car. When we got home he took a couple of steps and fell in the yard. He was still extremely dizzy and disoriented. I got him to bed sometime after 5am. Anxious to get him to our personal doctor. At 9am after dropping my kids off at school I called publix pharmacy to see if the zofran and meclazine were ready. They advised they never recieved any scripts.. I double checked our dc papers and it was listed and the correct location was listed.. just one more gut punch from this awful place. When we finally seen our doctor a throughout exam was complete and with proper head to toe assessment this horrible experience could of been avoided.. Never will I ever send anyone to any Halifax facility ever again.
Had my surgery here about two years ago beautiful clean hospital entire staff was very nice except one nurse but she could have been having a bad day.. other than that they were very attentive and super nice.
Worst place 10 hours in ER and still not seen
By far the worst hospital ever I. I wouldn’t take my worst enemy here
A family member came in to the emergency room with severe heat exhaustion and dehydration. Brought in by ambulance sat in the waiting room for 5 hrs only had the IV drip that the EMTs administered. They left to go home. I know Covid is high right now but so are other emergency. People do die from heat stroke too.
I went to the ER today rated four and a half 5 hours I called the main number twice trying to get patient help nothing nothing a lady was there two hours longer than I mean just to look on her face just to look on her face she was a nurse for 50 years old very very scared about that atmosphere causing either pain almost in pain I went there for I have a bad back and the elbow that Halifax hospital putting metal plates and pin plates and pins are coming out of my body right now I broke that my elbow again or whatever dont and they just look at you like you dont need to eat after 6 or 7 hours most people get hungry
Mrs. Amanda is the most awesome voice therapist She is very knowledgeable of her skills and she displays a determination to get her patients better and if not. She find a way to do so. I am deeply grateful to GOD for Mrs. Amanda Thank you very much Brooks Rehabilitation
The IMC floor has some VERY OUTSTANDING employees. Visiting vacationing from out of state landing there after my husband endured a cardiac infection episode introduced me to some outstanding people. A HUGE THANKS to Samantha Dr Bigo that spent the night watching over my husband. Also kuddos to Heather Dr Sirventi probably spelt wrong. They were awesome answering my questions keeping me informed. I cannot express the special feeling that have for these people as well as the entire floor. So unusual to meet so many “caring” helpful individuals at one place. God sure put an entire group of angels in the Halifax Health
What a literal garbage place. I honestly wish I could make up half the crap I’ve experienced at this utter garbage ‘hospital’. My father has gone in via ambulance multiple times only to be discharged several hours later. When we took him to Advent they actually ran tests and discovered he had diabetes new and literal septic shock an actual condition that could kill if not treated or properly diagnosed. It’s really just staggering that a hospital could have such mindnumbingly inept medical staff and still operate in an area where other much better options are available. Seriously an illegitimate doctor located in a Daytona alleyway is likely to provide better more astute services than this trash heap.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
