Alicia Serrano's Online Review Report Card

DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DOCTOR! I never had a bad experience with Nicklaus Children’s urgent care until today. She was extremely rude and offensive! I came to the Doral urgent care because my son who is 3 does speech therapy and it was convenient because of the fact unfortunately my pediatrician did not have an appointment for my 10 month old. My 10 month old has an ear infection and she was making it seem like it was my fault and telling me why didn’t I go to the pediatrician. Also telling me what I should know as a mother and talking down to me. She kept telling my 3 year old to sit… I had an awful experience and I will never go back to that urgent care because of her.

Miami Children Urgent Care in Miami Lakes has a great staff very professional and caring to my concern as our son pcp was booked and had no space. But I CANNOT say the same for Dr. Alicia Serrano, she came in seem very rushy and bothered by us being there my oldest has ADHD moved a lot and she sounded annoyed by him asking my husband to sit him down. I had my work uniform, on which I work with adults not children. I guess she thought I should’ve of known that by the remarks she stated I should know my son virus had no treatment . And I had some more questions as she followed by cutting me short and saying those were questions I should ask his pcp not her.. I just ended up leaving not even waiting for the papers . I know being in the health care field is frustrating at time but I would never treat anyone the way she did.

My daughter was at nickolaus children's urgent care and Thai doctor literally walked into a tantrum and yelled something at my daughter about being "geniosa" which means that she's feisty. Mind you, we had been at the center for over 2 hours... any normal 2 year old would throw a tantrum- especially one with Influenza B. She literally told me not to show empathy for my daughter, who had been fussy. This doctor proceeded to talk to me about raising two kids of her own then telling me that she's helping me. Which- I was completely quiet for. She tehen proceeded to tell me not to be mad. I lost it. This lady has no ethical training or bedside manner. She is NOT qualified to give any "disciplinary" advice- especially when it's not needed.

Really unkind bedside manner. Not the most compassionate, very condescending for having chosen peds. Told me that my googling skills will never be her board certified knowledge... when all I was doing was asking questions & voicing my concerns over my child who had broken out with a bad allergic reaction to something. Bad representation of the hospital she works for. Great hospital, not so great doctor.

While Miami Children's is excellent, Dr. Serrano doesn't seem to have the best people skills. As any wonderful mother would have many concerns, comments, questions & doubts she told me that my googling skills would never equal her board certified degree. Very arrogant for someone who wasn't even sure how to pronounce my child's name. Very disappointed & confused as to why a doctor would behave in such a rude & condescending manor. Not a good representation of the hospital.
