List of Edward J Huggett's Reviews
Dr. Huggett and his staff are great. Myself and both of my sons see him and he has helped us all with our vision issues.
Dr. Huggett is the most kind, patient and engaging eye Dr. I have EVER had for my kiddo. He is amazing. His wife is equally incredible as she runs the front office.
Can not speak highly enough about this doctor!
What a great experience. They are very compassionate to my daughter's needs and it is clear Dr. Huggett is very committed to his patients. Thank you
I’ve been seeing Dr. Huggett since 2011 for my low-vision issues. He is not an ordinary optometrist, he specializes in tackling and solving low-vision issues in patients in order to provide them quality of life.Dr. Huggett is very compassionate and understanding, and his low-vision expertise is not found in any other eye specialists doctor’s office, and I’ve seen many in the past. He not only uses standard refraction equipment to determine vision correction, but he also has special lenses, and can offer monocular and binocular low-vision eyewear.Dr. Huggett has been able to determine my low-vision need and provided me with eyeglass prescriptions over the years enabling me to drive.I highly recommend seeing Dr. Huggett for specialized low-vision issues.
Dr. Huggett is a life saver. My review is rather long but it just goes to show how much he has helped me.I have been experiencing symptoms rather suddenly and after doing research, thought I had VH-vertical heterophoria. Never heard of it before and apparently a lot of doctors don't deal with it. My first thought was to call St. Lukes and asked if they deal with this issue, I was told yes so I made the appointment. Most of my time was spent with a technician, and only a short amount of time with the doctor. A basic eye exam was done and the doctor at St. Lukes looked at me funny when I told him I thought I had this VH and my symptoms. He dismissed me as my eyes looking fine, and to try and ENT for inner ear issues. I felt defeated but turned to an ENT for answers. The ENT could not give me answers as he did not think this was inner ear related after exam and a maneuver.I did more research on the VH I thought it was and found that it is a type of binocular disorder. There were only 2 doctors I found that dealt with this. One being over 4 hours away and $600 office visit, the other being Dr. Huggett who was less than an hour away and WAY more affordable. I was able to make the appointment rather soon and felt some relief that I might finally get answers.Dr. Huggett was VERY personable and friendly from the beginning, as is Connie in the front office. I told him everything I have been experiencing, the avenues I went down to get an answer, and how I am still not getting any answers but my condition is getting worse and causing major anxiety in my life. He took his time going over all the testing he was going to do. I usually do eye exams every year but I have never done any of the tests he did before. He was able to confirm what I thought, about vertical phoria, along with a few other things going on with my eyes and prescribed me prism glasses to help. It has been such a relief to get an answer as to what in the world was going on with me. It was a brief time dealing with these issues but I had SO MUCH anxiety in my life over it. I will be getting my glasses by this weekend and can't wait to start being better.Dr. Huggett remained friendly and helpful dealing with me, my anxiety and the millions of questions I have had.If you are experiencing issues with your vision I would highly suggest coming to see this doctor.
I too was told there was nothing else that could be done to help me see. I had detached retina surgery that went bad. What happened to the eye was in fact permanent with no medical options. Dr. Huggett was able to work with my brain , double vision and blocked vision and create glasses that gave me the hope and ability to function. I was so desperate that I was searching for a Dr. to remove the eye. He is the best out there, hands down. I am so grateful to have found him. Connie, his office manager also excels in every way.
Outstanding service, excellent care. You will not find a better more compassionate caring and knowledgeable vision doctor. Highly recommend.
Dr. Huggett is one in a million. He specializes in low vision and binocular vision and helped me to read again where other doctors told me I would never read again. He took over an hour himself to help me with my low vision. I have to admit the best part of making the appointment was talking to his assistant, Connie. She was so friendly and sweet. They are a great team!
I cannot speak highly enough of our experience with Dr. Huggett and his office. My 92-year-old mother had double vision and her regular eye doctor wasn't able to properly diagnose or treat it. He recommended Dr. Huggett. Dr H spent an enormous amount of time testing my mother's vision, all with great patience and humor, and gave her an eyeglass prescription for both her regular lenses and readers to address the issue. The 'scrip was spot-on. We returned for a 2-week check after she got her new glasses to confirm she was seeing properly. At the end of the visit, Dr. H gave my mom a farewell hug, which she very much appreciated and returned. He had, after all, give her vision back to her. And once my mother received the balance of her bill post-insurance, Connie in Dr H's office was enormously accommodating on allowing my mom to pay what she could each month.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
