I was vacationing in Florida when I experienced a rare skin rash that was serious enough to bring me to the Morton Plant Hospital ER after oral antibiotics from BayCare urgent care the day before werent working and the rash was quickly getting much worse. The urgent care doctor and some ER staff were concerned about a serious staph infection but all the diagnostics labs did not point in that direction so I was admitted. The oncall hospitalist doctor believed my rash was likely an autoimmune condition called bullous pemphigoid treated by dermatologists but arranged for both Infectious Disease and Dermatology consults to eliminate any doubt and rule out the possibility of the combination of two types of rashes at once.Dr. Pradhan came in and did a very professional consult. He was a good listener keen observer and clear communicator. I was relieved to be reassured by him that there were no signs of an infectious process going on. And he was well versed about bullous pemphigoid. He saw me three times in two days at the hospital. I appreciated his warm friendly style combined with his straighttalk and professionalism. He even gave me great advice to start finding a dermatologist that can take up my care once I get back home because they can be hard to find and get appointments. I was truly happy with the care he provided.
