List of Timothy Blain's Reviews
Wonderful experience. We don't dread going to appointments. We appreciate his candor and compassion. His wealth of knowledge is impressive and he provides a vision forward towards prioritizing our health.
Tried to make a new patient appt. Receptionist referred me to a web sight that uses some sort of direct payment services. I have good insurance and it appears his office won't mess with insurance companies
Excellent care and service by Dr. Blain and the staff.
Very personable and friendly. Not in a hurry. Explains medical test reports clearly. Answers questions. Encourages participation treatments.
I have never had a bad time with Doctor Blain. He listens to me before he replies with a sound answer. I am very glad I found him years ago
As someone who hates the doctors I have to give him credit. I had a great experience and look forward to my next check up.
Dr blain is my regular doctor. He is effective, listens to any concerns and ensures follow up with specialists I may need. I can get appointment s in a timely manner.
Approximately 2 weeks ago I made an on line appointment for my husband to be a new patient. At that time tgere was 2 available appointments open 1 was Feb 14th and the other was Feb 21st. I took the 14th opening and answered the required questions. When we went today the receptionist said that there was no appointment made and he wasnt accepting any new patients. I'm not sure how they missed it or who checks their on line appointment site but this is an unprofessional and unacceptable way to treat patients.
Dr. Blain’s office of Gulf Coast Medical Group was great when we first started taking my newborn there, but over the past 3 years has gradually gotten worse and worse to the point that we have had to find a new pediatrician. A few months ago my two year old slammed his finger in the door, we called Dr. Blain’s office and they couldn’t get him in that day (which was understandable, it was around 2pm) so they referred us to their walk in office in Englewood. When we got there we were told they were too busy and couldn’t see my son and told us to go to their office in Venice. We got to Venice and were told they didn’t take his insurance and we needed to go to North Port. At that point, we couldn’t spend any more time driving around so we had to just go home – keep in mind the poor kid was screaming and crying hysterically the entire time. Today my now 3 year old woke up with extremely swollen and red eyes stating that they hurt. We called Dr. Blain’s office again and they didn’t have any openings so they told us to go to their walk in office in Englewood at 9:30 (they made an appointment for us while on the phone). On our drive there, the walk in called me and said they do not take my sons insurance (which hasn’t changed) and that Dr. Blain would see us at 10:15. We got there at 9:30 since we were already over halfway there and were called to the back room around 9:50. We sat in the room until 10:50 still without seeing Dr. Blain, at which point we left. It appalls me how a pediatrician can expect a toddler in pain to spend an hour (and who knows how much longer it would have been) waiting in a single room. As appalled as I am it unfortunately didn’t surprise me as every time we have been since January the wait times have gotten more and more ridiculous. This review is long, but I think that anyone looking for a pediatrician in the area should be warned what to expect at this office. After my experience today my children will never be setting foot in Dr. Blain’s office again.
They make you jump through hoops just to get seen and will send you to multiple of their offices first that will refuse to see you as well. Expect to wait 30-60 minutes after being called back to see the doctor. It's absurd to keep toddlers and babies waiting for so long, especially when they aren't feeling good. It's a shame because Dr. Blain is a good doctor but Gulf Coast Medical Group makes it not worth the headache to see him. My children will never be back.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
