Dr. Houck is very personable and does his job well. He is very kind, listens intensely and is by far a great dermatologist. I recommend him to everyone I know looking for a great dermatologist. The staff is awesome as well.

Patient beware! Dr. Houck is a complete fraud. He never trained in Mohs surgery but still performs it. You might as well have a gynecologist do your cardiac bypass surgery. Stay away!!!

I had been going to Dr. Houck for 7 years and while I wound not give him super high ratings because he left some unnecessary scarring but his staff found a lot of skin cancer on me so I was grateful. Well that all changed this last visit. The nurse gives me a painful local anesthesia for mohs surgery on my nose and they left me in the chair for over an hour. By the time the Dr. made it into the room I was no longer numb and let him know so he would not approach my face with any instruments. I had to convince Dr. Houck that I was no longer numb and needed more local anesthesia which I was not looking forward to repeating. Dr. Houck numbed me back up and proceeded with the Mohs. After he was done he said that he didn't feel it was necessary to do a graft or anything to close up the hole and that it would be fine. I was a little taken back because I had mohs surgery on the other side of my nose 15 years ago in Chicago and the Dr did a skin graft to close the hole. Still I went home and did not see my nose until the next day when I took the bandage off and was very upset. Today I received a skin flap from a plastic surgeon to fix the botched Mohs surgery. I don't think Dr. Houck has the medical expertise to be doing Mohs surgery I did see that he was looking to hire a Mohs surgeon on Zip Recruiter perhaps he knows of his weakness. I know I do and I'm very sorry for it now and will be finding a new Dr. who is conscientious and qualified.

Have been a patient for 5+ years Was very satisfied until today Had an 11:00 appointment for mohr surgery Arrived by 10:50 was not called until 11:55 sat in room for 8 minutes before nurse arrived to numb my arm Mentioned to Dr. I was unhappy with the wait Instead of apologizing he and the nurse chastised me for not be being thankful Then explained they started my treatment at 11:00 when I arrived by putting the needles and instruments on a tray There were so many patients in the waiting room it was full and patients waiting in their cars to be called

Dr. Houck and his staff were so considerate to my 91 year old mother. She had several issues and he resolved them all. He is a very knowledgeable doctor and explores all of the best options of treatment based on the individual. Highly recommend him!
