List of Robert Allen's Reviews
I've been a patient of Dr. Allen for almost 5 years and he's been great to work with. Professional and open-minded. Even though my insurance doesn't cover our visits as he's an out of network provider I wouldn't go with anyone else. Excellent doctor!
Dr. Allen is very dangerous doctor. About 5 years ago I was a patient of his. Unknown to me at the time I had Lyme disease and Lupus which both effect the brain. He diagnosed me with bipolar and another terrible condition—both of which I did not have. He had me on some heavy duty drugs which I was having terrible side effects from—including seizures. I was brushed off as “being crazy” and told I “google too much” and to find something better to do with my free time. His nurse is absolutely unbearable and wrote most of his notes with derogatory statements in them and then he would sign off on them. What a horrible way to treat the “mentally ill”. Although, I no longer suffer from psychiatric symptoms due to my treatment for both the Lupus and the Lyme, my treatment from by doctor has stuck with me as one of the most insensitive experiences I have dealt with on the medical field. I will never refer anyone to him and don’t think he even deserves to have a license. I also believe his nurse should lose hers as well. She has no business treating patients.
Well this is shocking you're a new patient and the receptionist tells you to go call other places because the medication you're on is a controlled substance what the heck well I hope so you charge $450 for a review in your shrink can't even prescribe medication Well then he better retire. Well I don't know at your age you were diagnosed 2 years ago yes lady that's right and I moved to Florida God freaking forbid where there's pathetic doctors here and I'm better off going back to Connecticut to get my medication and then living in Florida because oh my God we can't prescribe the medication that you're on for 2 years glory be to the gods in the sky above... Don't go there if you need to be on medication because the doctor's a baby and he can't prescribe it.
By far the best psychiatrist/addiction management specialist in this area. Dr Allen & his staff go above & beyond to make sure their patients are cared for appropriately. They do whatever it takes for their patients. They write letters to insurance companies to get authorization for meds. They’ll write letters for disability when appropriate. I’ve been a patient of their for at least 10 years & I won’t see anyone else!
I want everyone to know that dr Robert Allen and his staff are the absolute best addiction treatment professionals I have ever encountered in my 30 yes of a variation of addictive behaviors I came to him through a referral from my treating psychiatrist who thought dr Allen was much better equipped to handle my life threatening addiction thank god my professors have been brutally honest with me from the onset Needless to say I'm addiction free for over 5 yrs now and live my life and family . .with his and kathys guidance I have returned to being a productive member of my community again When I saw a one star review I can only pray for the addict who didn't get what they wanted and lashed out at one of the best in the industry of addiction. Which I know is typical of a suffering addict If you have a real desire to be unchained from the bondage of addiction make the call to him now Your life depends on it Mm
Melody, Kathy, and Dr. Allen are amazing. I moved to Punta Gorda last year, but I refuse to move to another doctor. It is a long drive, but well worth it.Dr. Allen and the ladies in the office are non-judgmental and are willing to listen (really listen) to what you are saying. I have been visiting this office since 2015 and they truly feel like family. They helped me more than they know. I don't know where I would be without their support. I wish I could rate with more than 5 stars!! Thank you !!
Dr. Allen is great! Very understanding and professional. Really cares about his patients. The staff is awesome. Very friendly.
He has helped my son tremendously and truly listens to him.
This is the worst experience I've ever had in my life dealing with a psychiatrist office. We were late we were trying to call them the message said that the office was closed. We left a message and somehow we got to a doctors Allen's office in Tampa. When we arrived late they wouldn't even let us fill out the paperwork they said Dr. Alan was refusing to see us. I asked if we could just sit down and fill out the paperwork and have them review the paperwork and then make a decision about whether you want to reschedule the appointment but the lady behind the desk said no she kept rolling her pen between her fingers. My friend was with me she's the worst navigator in the world and I am upset with everything right now I'm at set with the doctors office I'm upset with my significant other I'm upset with the woman twirling the pen behind the bench and I would highly recommend that no one ever go to this fucking doctor ever again. As a matter fact I'm having my attorney called him
Dr Allen is the greatest. They make you feel like family. I would never change Drs and I live in the Cape. He is definitely worth the drive.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
