Grant Whittaker's Online Review Report Card

I have been going to Dr Grant Whitaker for about 5 years, and I am so happy I finally found a GI that listens and helps! I had gone through a few GIs before finding Dr. Whitaker. I've had issues with Crohns for over 20 years, and he is the first GI that has listened to my concerns and made me feel like my concerns mattered. He is extremely proactive. I needed to have surgery and he immediately got me with one of the best surgeons right away. I moved recently and am now over an hour away but I still continue to have him as my doctor because he is that great of one. He is caring, intuitive, wise, and much more. If you have had trouble finding a great GI call Dr Whitaker. Thank you, Dr. Whitaker and your entire office. My life has been made so much better because of the care that I receive from yall.

Saw Dr Whitaker for a colonoscopy (my first) at Baptist Nassau. He had several ahead of mine since mine was scheduled for 12:00. I saw them on the schedule board in the waiting area when I arrived. I went through the vital checks & setup & got my IV. He politely & professionally came into my room & introduced himself & asked if I had any questions and was very courteous, as if I was the first patient of the day. I was taken back 5-10 minutes later. The procedure went well. Didn’t even know it happened when I woke up back in my room. 20 min felt more like 1 min, but I felt more rested than I did when I got there. The 2 anesthesiologists I interacted with were both professional as well. The nurses & assistants were all professional & kind. Dr Whitaker came to provide feedback on the procedure personally when I woke up. As far as Colonoscopies go I’m very satisfied. I’m glad I made the choice to have my procedure with Dr Whitaker. Received feedback, diagnosis & even pictures on paper as well with my discharge instructions. I would recommend Dr Whitaker out of Borland Grover, and Baptist Nassau to anyone needing to get a Colonoscopy but might feeling apprehensive about the process. I know I was, but if I need one again I’ll 100% choose to have my procedure with Dr Whitaker at Baptist medical Center Nassau.

Horrendous bedside manner. Has no suggestions for treatment. Def not proactive. I had the same GI 15y. NP at all. Never did he ask me what to do or not have a plan. If you indicate to this dr you have anxiety don't even go the appt. He has no interest in helping you. No capability of working in or outside the box. I told him I'm looking at a feeding tube and he made a very rude comment. I told him I don't understand your reluctance to do anything as a doctor. I'm looking at a feeding tube, why would you say such a thing? Shame on you. My primary asked for this appt. He'll get the message.

I wish 0 stars was an option. Doctor Whittaker is not cut out to handle patients who are in pain. Quite frankly, he doesn’t care. I even had to go to the ER because of a mistake he made, and he still didn’t try to help. If you care about your health, go find a competent doctor.

Incompetent, rude, and useless

By far the worst doctor I have ever encountered. He does not care if you’re in pain and he will not help if you are in pain. If you want to stay healthy, stay away from Dr. Whitaker.

I have been seeing Dr. Whittaker at this practice for about 4 years. He takes time to carefully explain any procedures and results. He also answers any and all questions without ever making a patient feel rushed or being condescending. I can honestly say this is one of the BEST doctors I have ever had — specialists, general practices, etc. — in 62 years of being under doctors’ care due to lifelong medical issues.

This physician is good at what he does, but complicated cases are no match for this practice. Seek help at a larger, more experienced practice.

Dr. Whittaker clearly sets himself apart from other GI’s. I have never felt so confident and trusting with a healthcare provider than the service Dr. Whittaker has provided. Everything makes sense from the initial visit to long term solutions. Working through a disease can be a very stressful time for anyone and their family. But Dr. Whittaker really cares about his patients and has a great way of explaining things which anyone can understand. I feel good putting my health in his hands.
