I take my mother here for 2yrs. Not once have we ever had a negative experience. Everyone from the healthcare providers to support staff have consistently been professional, friendly, personable, and thorough. We all laugh every time we are there. You can tell everyone there has a loving, caring heart. Wait times are less than five minutes. Clean facility. I would recommend this practice to anyone who needs to be treated by a Pulmonologist.
First visit was amazing, the physician was kind and understanding of the reason for my visit. I scheduled a pulmonary test at the hospital and discussed my results with hospital staff. Unfortunately, I couldn't have my results sent to my email until the physician at this clinic could look over the results and talk to me. This is where the issue started. I was told the physician would call me and afterwards I could have my results sent to me. The phone call lasted maybe a minute and 30 seconds, where I told her I knew my results I just needed it sent to me and that was it. There was no full workout, evaluation, full length discussion of results (as I already had talked to the pulmonologist at the hospital), yet I was billed for a telehealth appointment. I called the office and told them about the phone call and the interactions, but they said they still considered it a telehealth appointment only because the physician called me. As someone who works in healthcare, we never charge someone for just a phone call with the physician, UNLESS care was given. I spoke with billing and they said the only people that could dispute it was the office, which they weren't willing. Billing was very kind and understanding, but I would NOT RECCOMEND this office, as they are only there to make money. Again, the physician was very sweet, but I highly recommend going to a clinic that won't charge you $50 for a less than 2 minute phone call.
This review is not so much about McCoskey as it is about the service that I received from his staff. First, they got my phone number and email wrong in the system. Ordered the equipment that I required and submitted the wrong information to a company that I did not want to use. Talked to the staff at office through a window with patients behind me and did not care about my privacy. Called the company that I wanted to use and they assured me that it would not take 8 weeks to get the equipment they needed. The office blamed it on the insurance company, which I know that the supplier of the equipment contacts the insurance companies' foe payment. Through all of this they did not give me a call and inform me that a different supplier was used, not the one I requested, or to keep me informed of the process. The company Apria was the company that equipment was ordered through was not forth coming and wanted a credit card to secure the equipment. I did not get any action until I threatened to change doctors to get this right. Oh yes, I found out that other patients have/are waiting 10 weeks or more for their equipment to be received. I also understand, that the equipment that is required has been recalled but no excuse that the equipment has already ready to ship for several days upon the phone calls made.
In my opinion, he is honest and straight forward which is rare nowadays. I am allowed to ask questions and I receive answers from his NPs whom I see at the Fleming Island office. None of my other doctors will do this and act like everything is none of my business and is a big secret. My other doctors make me feel insulted and abused and I hate consulting with them. At Dr. McCoskey's I feel like I am taking part in my care which is how it should be because I know how I feel.
In 2021 I was hospitalized with COVID for almost three months. Although I was not intubated, the damage to my lungs has been significant. Every three months I seem to contract an infection that migrates to my lungs and impedes on my ability to breathe. I am only 56 so this impacts my life in so many ways. Mr. Mccloskey's office has helped me manage these episodes. Maintain my job and most importantly spend time with my precious grandson's. I HIGHLY recommend this office. They are equip to handle all your pulmonologist needs. Margery Maney
I noticed my favorite pulmonary peeps Google reviews stars are at 3.7, it can't be true. I have been going there for years and my docs and staff are like family, they are kind, helpful and awesome at what they do. With all my health issues they are doing their best to help me. This is coming from me, that got a lot of bad experience with bad doctors and offices. So, comparing to what I went through with other doctors before them, I want to say these awesome people there are exactly what doctors and staff should be. And I will never leave them for I have established a great relationship with all of them there, even with the changes, I will still stay. P.S. We are all humans, not robots here. We can only do so much, so stay positive and kind to others including yourself.😘
This review is not about Dr McCoskey personally, as I think he is a good doctor. This review is about his support staff and the incompetence that I have experienced with them over the last 5 months. In September, a nurse practitioner at his office told me that I needed a CPAP, as I had just taken a test for Sleep Apnea the month prior. I was told at this point that the CPAPs were on back order. After not hearing anything back from them for 3 months, I made another appt to see them for refills. The new nurse practitioner I saw asked me how my CPAP was working. I told her I never received one. She asked the people up front about it. They could not figure out what the holdup was and could not find where an order was made. They said they would put in a new order and I told them I would call them back in 2 weeks, if I had not heard anything. Two weeks came by without a call, so I called them back. I tried to talk to the woman in charge of ordering stuff and left her a voice

They said they would put in a new order and I told them I would call them back in 2 weeks, if I had not heard anything. Two weeks came by without a call, so I called them back. I tried to talk to the woman in charge of ordering stuff and left her a voicemail. I called back and told them I would like to talk to the office manager. They told me to call back and press option 6. Of course, there was no answer, but I left another voicemail. I called back to the office and told them there was not and I was getting a little irritated that this issue had been going on for 5 months now. They patched me through to someone over them (And yes, I am leaving out specific names on this, but I do know them well). She states that my last sleep study was done in 2011 and they will need me to get a new sleep study. I explain to her that I just took a sleep study in August 2021 and that I gave the report directly to them in September 2021 at my appt. She asked me if I had another report. I told her I gave them the original and I gave them my doctor’s information where I took the sleep study, so they could call and get a new one. One week later, I call my sleep study doctor to ensure they had called (as it had been a week since I talked to Dr McCloskey’s office). Well to my astonishment, Dr McCoskey’s office had not even contacted them yet. I call Dr McCloskey’s office for an update. I try the office manager again and no answer. I call the woman that orders the equipment and No answer. I call and talk to the individuals at the front desk who tell me that they only work on Tuesday and Wednesday at this location. I am like, so they do nothing for the patients at this location during the other days. A CPAP with something that has Sleep Apnea and other major lung issues could be life or death, so I am just supposed to wait for them while I have the option to die. I have hear of people much younger than 49 dying of this issue. Not closing the loop because of total incompetence is not an excuse. To end my true-life nightmare here, I have contacted my regular Dr, they are getting me a CPAP, and I have changed pulmonologists. Once again, good doctor, but the support staff is beyond incompetent.
Extremely rude service, the office opens at 12:30 pm and yet we are all still waiting here not even on a waitlist. The receptionist is just sitting in a dark office telling people through a closed window to sit down. This is not a way to run a business!! If you open at 12:30 pm then have the decency to have staff members available to the patients.
I was rushed to Emergency Room. Trouble breathing. ER got me stabilized. Dr McCoskey checked all my pertinent tests and info. Two days later he did a Bronchoscopy and found I had a bad strain of Bacterial Pneumonia that was not showing up on tests except for chest x-ray and CT Scan. He got everything, put me on proper medication, oxigen and breathing spirometers. I spent 10 days in the hospital. He was there every day. He saved my life. If I had waited two more days , they said I would have died. Him and Dr Scott Nelson are anazing. I am 70 years and now I'm back to playing with my Great-grandchildren.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process.
