THE BEST DOCTOR! 6 years ago, Dr. Taney performed emergency lazar surgery for my sudden and extensive retinal tears, and through the years, he’s expertly managed and remedied every eye issue as they occurred. When diagnosed with a macular hole requiring surgery, the only reason I wasn’t completely terrified was that I truly believed I was in the best hands with Dr. Taney. This sense of trust got me through the entire ordeal including the face-down recovery. The surgery was a success, with an even better outcome than we hoped for. I know I will have to deal with eye issues as they arise but feel safe and secure with Dr. Taney and his extremely professional and efficient staff at The Retina Group of Florida. Thank you to an excellent team!

Called for an appt as my husband had been treated for macular pucker by him. When I told the girl his symptoms including blurring she said we had to see a neuroopthamologist. Got a referral to another opthomoligist (insurance didn’t allow for a neuro one) who found that ludicrous. It’s too bad that dr Taney is badly represented by an office staff member and forced us to be treated by someone that didn’t have his records.

Dr. Taney, our retina specials for many years, heads the Retina Group of Florida comprising 12 offices and 11 physicians. On a Sunday, my husband saw floaters in one eye. On Monday he was in the office, operated on Tuesday, post op visit on Wednesday--three different doctors because of the emergency of the problem. Each of the three doctors was proficient, knowledgeable, caring, confident. I cannot recommend this entire group highly enough.

The doctor is one of the finest in the country. The entire staff is fabulous and very helpful. It is rare to see a doctor and entire office be as capable and kind.
