!!! CAUTION!!! !!! NEW PATIENTS BEWARE!!! Are physician offices no longer responsible for verifying a new patients insurance?! This passed January as soon as i received my medical insurance cards from Cigna I called the office of Dr. Nelson Charlie and Dr. Lattouf. The receptionist confirmed that they (The Doctors) were in network and that they accepted my insurance and booked an appointment with Carol Lattouf. I had several visits with Carol Lattouf including a surgery. A few weeks after surgery I received notice that the office of Dr. Nelson Charlie and Carol Lattouf did not accept my insurance even though the office verified my insurance after taking photo copies of insurance card, ID, and taking co payment before multiple visits. I’m currently being charged for the entire bill minus a small “discount” that Dr. Nelson Charlie feels is acceptable due to his office’s negligence. The discount isn’t comparable to what I would pay with insurance. I would have never chosen this provider if they had said they were out of network. Seems a little shady especially since one of the girls from their office said this has happened to many of patients...

I have beed going to Dr.Chalie for many years and have always found his office staff to be excellent and Dr,.Charlie to be highly competent >

Not sure about his office staff, but I find Dr. Charlie's skill and efficacy to be amazing.  I moved to Austin, but I try and see him when I get back to Fort Lauderdale every year!

Dr Charlie operates a facility that is clean, beautiful and professionally run. He is an awesome physician. I have been using his services for over five years and have nothing but complementary things to say about him ... and his entire staff.

I  have been going to Dr. Charlie for over 3yrs and I'm thrilled with both him and his staff. After trying many Dermatologist who were rude and too busy to be bothered with a patient who needed real medical attention, they only wanted someone who wanted Botox or some expensive cosmetic procedure, I was very fortune to be referred to Dr. Charlie from 2 different medical sources. My first appt. was for adult acne problems. He never made me feel like my problem was unimportant. Later I had a small spot on my back which other Dr.s might of brushed it off but as always he took my concern to heart an found an atypical skin tumor which needed surgery. About a year later I had what I thought was just a sore that wouldn't heal after a biopsy it turned out to be a minor skin cancer but again required a small procedure. Once again he and his staff were very compassionate with me. In both cases Dr. Charlie took plenty off time to explain the treatment needed and none of my questions or concerns were too small to answer giving me all the time I needed, even in my follow up appts. I was never rushed. He is always on time which is rare in today's world. I have recommended him to friends, family, even strangers at other Dr.'s office and Whole Foods. I will continue to refer everyone I can because finding a Dr. as dedicated to his patients is difficult and very rare to find...I know I had been through at least a dozen before I got this lucky!!

I have not rushed to write this review; however, I think it is important that physicians and patients are aware that the patient is a participant in his/her care. The item that I wish to address is when Dr. Charlie found a basal cell carcinoma on my back and said he wanted to biopsy it. I agreed since I have had them before (and this lesion was in an area on my back that I couldn't see) and knew that I would need the results of the biopsy before my Mohs surgeon would schedule the Mohs surgery that I always have for removal of basal cell carcinoma. While he was doing the biopsy I smelled my flesh burning and asked what was happening and he said he was cauterizing the lesion for removal. I responded that I though it was just a biopsy since I always get Mohs for removal (99% cure rate) to which he answered, "For a person in your age group it is a waste of taxpayers' money". Of course, I went to my Mohs surgeon and there were malignant cells left in that had to be removed etc. The deed speaks for itself.

Excellent practitioner and staff. I had three procedures done and have been pleased.. Two years later.

Always on time and the doctor takes his time and explains everything. Very nice experience.

I really like this doctor. He is thorough, very nice and spends adequate time with me each time I go. He doesn't push cosmetic treatments either which other Dermatologists have done with me.
