List of Kindred Hospital South Florida - Ft. Lauderdale's Reviews
This review was solicited by staff. That was early in our stay. To help with malicious bad reviews by former employee.●●●My mother was brought closer to home from UofM. Outstanding respiratory hospital. Getting my mother breathing 100% on her own is their focus. Glad she's here.●●●●●●●●●●●●●It became a nightmare there. If your family can't speak or communicate, or will get no visitors, avoid at all costs. Odds are against those patients for receiving care that one would expect from an accredited acute care hospital. Please read all bad reviews first, then think on it.There is a huge gap between communication from people promising you better care, and the ones that actually do it. In our case. The more we tried, the more it got worse.
Kinderid Hospital is basically a good pla.e. But there.re two problems. The food is well prepared, but the served portions are small. And not well balanced. The other problem is that the nurses don't respond very fast when called. It can sometimes take as long as 2 hours to get a responce. They are understafed. And like the other three rehab hospitals I was in, most of the nursing staff speak poor English!!I'm still in the same hospital at the time of the above writing. They did read this and the above problems are being corrected. They got on this real quick.
If your loved one cannot communicate, I suggest you read every bad review given. It has proven accurate. It explains why they had a staff member approach me for a google review early in our stay. It will be better than once you realize the truth. It is embraced by the staff , 2 changes per 12 hours is acceptable. I've waited 6 hours to get my mother changed, with me there repeatedly requesting it, in 2 separate shifts. Imagine if they didn't have a voice there wiyh them and for them. I cannot alter my 5 star review given on my other account. But I'm going to do whatever it takes to get it removed or edited. Families need to be aware of the culture of care they embrace DO NOT MATCH UP TO THE PATIENT RIGHTS. Duress from diaper rash compromises the ability for rehabilitation to be given a fair chance for my loved one. And my family and my loved one seem to be the only people concerned as a whole. There are staff that do care. But it has become evident more do not. Too many times I've been told , we've already changed her twice today. Remember that when considering a place for someone who can't communicate for themselves. Not every patient can communicate and become agitated upto duress when sitting in pee and pooh. Ones that do should be monitor for comfort care accordingly. Then when diaper rash makes it painful to sit in bowel movement, protocol for frequency of changing needs to be addressed and monitored better. If it hinders the respiratory progress she is there for, it needs to be recognized by staff. Not daily calls to nursing supervisor by me. I'm there and have troubles. Imagine if your loved one doesn't get visitors as much.
This is the worst experience I have had in all my life. The doctor orders for me to have labs done and an I.V inserted and I am here waiting while they call other people ahead of me. I will give this place a zero if I can. The bed side manner is horrible I am a nurse and if you don't have the compassion to deal with sick people then you don't need to be working as a nurse. This is very unprofessional how they treated me and I will never come here again, I would never wish this place on my worst enemy let alone a loved one.
Horrible place. If you want your loved ones to be treated poorly send them here. The incompetence of this place is off the charts from the doctors and nurses down to the admin staff. Wish I could rate lower
Kindred nurses have kept me alive. They make sure I'm OK, check on me at night. The ICU nurses are great. The patient advocate has helped me navigate. ..
My daughter Fiorella was attended rehab at Kindred Hollywood and then Fort Lauderdale, after a serious brain hemorrage, with a very bad prognosis. But today, after almost 3 weeks of therapy, she returned home....walking, speaking, thinking and smiling. Being herself...The easy way is to believe that a miracle occurs..But I'm sure that this miracle was only possible because of the lovelly work of each one of the wonderful persons working at Kindred.Heroes! From Doctors to Service Personnel...anyone of you make miracles to happen....everyday.Say Thankyou is not enough. We won't forget you!On behalf all family and friends of FiorellaCarlos CaraballoDad
Mrs. Puranik got good care and the nurses were very caring and professional.
All the staff had treated me nice; more than I expected. I.am going to miss them dearly; the social worker, the nurses, the CNAs, the PTs and the patient advocate. I was treated like royalty.
Spent 6 days with physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy in the acute rehab unit for stroke complications. My team got weakling again in 6 days and without them I don’t know how my prognosis would be. Kudos to them. My patient advocate has been constantly checking on my progress and assisting me on getting through my time here.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
